Wonderful little mini album. Thanks for all of the great details. I haven't tried the felt with the sizzlets. Thanks for that tip!
I do not quite understand what is that plastic!
GIVE TO EXPLAIN HOW IT IS MADE?
thanks
Hello Anonymous: I believe you are asking about the "galssine" bags? If so, these are not made of palstic. They are premade bags and are waxy on both the outside and inside. They are thin in thickness and similar to wax paper feeling. This item can be purchased from Stampin' Up. If this is not the question, please further explain. Thanks for your visit.
have always wanted to try some felt flowers. is this a special kind (or thickness) of felt that can be cut with our sizzix dies or can you just buy a sheet a felt at any craft store ... and do you just run your *bare felt* through the big shot all by itself??? what adorable flowers. would LOVE to have a tub full of them. thanks for any help!
blessings, jo ann.
one more question: glassine bags?? are these the cellophane bags on p. 159 of catty? and did you use the medium size???
thanks again!!
jo ann.
great mini album; thanks for the tutorial, as it's a great one!
Hi Joanne. The felts used for this album is the square ones found at any local carft store. Theya re 100% Polyester. There are Acrylic as well as Wool felt but I believe those that are more dense are sold by the yard and more expensive. I used the Sizzlit just like using paper to put through the Big Shot. The Original dies cut much cleaner but the sizzlit works OK.
Glassine Bags: these can be found in the Occasion Mini page 19 item #117228 Bag size 4-3/4" x 6-3/4. Thank you for your question - I should clarify this point on my blog. hmmmm........now that's an idea: the cello bags may also work but give a different look!
Patti I had a question about the flowers too, did you have to use a shim? I tried to do this with the same sizzlit, but it didn't work for me. Maybe I need to try different felt.
Hi Katherine
Every Big Shot can be a little different. I use the Sizzlit to cut the "pointed" flower from Birds and Blooms and sometimes I had to clip a small part of the cut flower but for the most aprt, it did come out clean. The felt I used is not thick. The original dies have a deeper blade so any type of felt cutting is easier. I did not use a shim when using the sizzlit. Hope this info is helpful.
thanks sooooo much for the clarification. cannot believe i missed the glassine bag thing in the spring mini, as often as i have been through it (please insert a big DUH here). also appreciated the comments on the felt. i had tried that awhile back and gave up when my results were not clean and perfect. i see now that this was normal and ... i can deal with *cutting a bit* to finish the flowers. thanks again for your quick response!!!
hugs, Jo Ann.
