Dandelion Iris Card

This is the Iris stamp from the recently released Dandelion Designs Flower Girls stamp Set CL-16 which can be found here.  Her blog can be found here. These flower girls are happy that smile they have. Card is a Purple color that matches the Washi paper and fancy mat is a version of the Martha Stewart Modern Cube punch but tweaked to fit a A2 Card using the SCAL computer program. Inside mat is a lighter shade: lavender and white.
I love this Washi paper from Hanko Designs.  They have a huge variety of designs on their web site which can be found  here.  Behind the fancy mat, is a crinkle iridescent purple paper I purchased from a store in my travels to Singapore.
Here's a closer look at the Iris: Copic colors used: V15, V17, BV000, Y15, W4, W5, W7, W10, R30, R20, G21, G24.  Trim and pop with foam squares.

Dandelion Mum Card

Today is a quick card using one of the images from Dandelion Designs CL-16 Flower Girls Set. Dandelion Design blog can be found here.  Card base is Navy color with a light yellow card stock from my stash. Crafts Too Blossom Mums embossing folder used.
Copic colors used: Y000, Y11, Y15, W4, W5, W7, W10, R30, R20, G21, G24.  Trim , then pop with foam squares. Her dress is paper pieced with Washi scraps.
The slider tag was made using SCAL - it is from the library.  All I had to do is add the slits on each side for the 5/8" wide grosgrain ribbon.  I love that easy fix since none of my current dies worked for this stamped message.
Thank you for stopping by today............another Dandelion Card is coming.............

Dandelion Sakura Flap card

Here's another card using the recent released Dandelion Stamp Set CL-16 Flower Girls Set. Dandelion Stamps blog can be found here.  Embossing folder used is from Darice called Cherry Blossoms. This is a great card style by France Martin.  She has a You Tube video on how to make this card here. You can get the measurement for this card style and watch it over and over again. Card stock used matched the glitter paper from Best Creations called Kimono. Love this pattern paper. The pairing of this stamp set and the paper was perfect.
Here's the stamped image using Copic RV10, RV02, R85, R11, W4, W5, W7, W10, G21. Cut and pop with foam squares onto the bottom half of the card. The cherry blossom are cut and then attached on the flap section using a mini glue pen.
The Sakura flower is hand cut from the embossed folder used, then popped with foam squares. A Sakura Crystal Gelly Roll pen is used on the Sakura flower and around the flap edges as shown in this photo.
Here's a closer look at the stamped message (included in the stamp set).

Dandelion Peony Recessed Window Card

This is one of the recent releases from Dandelion Stamps SC-10 Peony. There is also a larger size Peony image available as part of a large cling stamp set (CL-16 Flower Girls Set). You can find the Dandelion blog here.  They are cute and happy images.  Stampin-Up So Saffron card stock used for the base. Bottom edge punch is from EK Success. A little pink grosgrain ribbon finishes off this card.
Stamp and trim image using Copic 21, G24, G28, E21, R20, Y18, W4, W5, W7, W10, V000, R81. Then pop with foam squares in recessed window.
"Happy Birthday" is from Starform Stickers:
To make this card:  Start off with a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of card stock.  Score along the 8-1/2" side @4", 4-1/4", then punch the right side edge. You will need the 1/2" to allow for the height of the recess in the window.  After punching the bottom edge, adhere Washi paper to the card stock, position the recessed window die (note: die is shown face up, when cutting - it should be face down to cut the window). Die is from Art Gone Wild CCD-007 Small Inset. Window opening is 1-3/4" x 2-1/8".
After the die has cut the opening, use a bone folder to crease open the window and recess area.
Underside of the card should look like this:
Apply sticky tape, trim off excess. Use a 2-1/4" x 2-5/8" piece of card stock to cover opening.
Finished window should now look like this.
Now that was really easy.......................try one by using the die or making the recessed opening yourself.

Baby Girl Bitty Book Album

Time to make another little "Bitty Book" for a baby girl. This one is for a great friend's grand daughter.  These "Bitty Books" were only available at one time through Stampin Up. Unfortunately, this product has been retired for many years. I have been saving mine to use sparingly for special occasions.  This is one of those occasions. So, of course, Pink has the be the color. I happen to also have some left over paper from the Stampin Up Rock a Bye Girl Scrapbook Collection from many years ago. Using this collection for this album was perfect.  The project required only one sheet of 12x12of the  pattern paper. Then a selection of various shades of Pink from my stash worked out great. The center of the case is cut from the invitation received in the mail using one of the Nestibility Ovals. A Sakura Crystal Gel pen is used around many of the cut images for some sparkle.
I finally get to use my Nestibilities - Yay!!!! Having SCAL and the Silhouette these days, I rarely reach for my Nestibilities but I want that embossed look along the edges.  The Oval and Scallop Oval Nestibilities were used for the album case.
The baby banner is a cut file from the on line Silhouette Store. It is also popped up with foam squares.
Those cute little Mary Jane shoes and Diaper Pin are cut files from the Collection called Bundle of Joy and can be found here. Both are popped up with foam squares.  Note the small adhesive rhinestone on each shoe.
I love the spine charms - Silver elastic cord is strung and knotted - Glossy Accents was used on the ends to prevent fraying.
Outside Mini Album has two diaper pins, edged with the Sakura Crystal gel Pen around it for some bling.
Inside front and back covers are using the paper along the edge.  The scalloped edge is a EK Success Punch.  Paper used is the reverse side of the heart Stampin Up Paper. The embossing folder is from Cuttlebug called Numbers Collage.
Now let's go over the card: the onesie cut file is from - resized to fit the card , then embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots. The "K" is cut using SCAL. Add a 3/8" wide Organdy ribbon to the onesie neckline using a mini glue dot. A Sakura Crystal Gel pen is used around many of the cut images for some sparkle.
Card inside: a Sakura Crystal Gel pen is used around the diaper pin. Stamped message is from Hero Arts.
A nice ensemble gift for a new grandchild.............thank you for coming by to visit and a happy crafty day to you.

Grand Piano Treat Box

I always love using cut files from because they are so unique and their cut pieces fit together ever so perfectly!!!! This one is from their Thank You for the Music SVG Kit. Luckily I had some sheets of shiny black card stock (to resemble a real piano) and some co-ordinating patterned paper (Recollections). The card is also using the same papers as well. This is a birthday present going to a relative who was a piano teacher. The piano is 6" x 6-1/2" x 3-1/2".
The piano top: Gold music notes are from the Recollections Metallic Pack.
Lift up the piano flap to reveal (inside?) with some additional gold music notes.
On the piano sits a sheet music holder which is now a birthday message printed from the computer using free Chow Fun font.
The best part of this piano is that it is a box that will hold some fun treats.........I decided to get some Coffee Rio candies to put inside.
The collection did not include a piano bench - I decided this projected needed one so I used the legs from the piano to make the bench except they were made a little shorter. This bench slides right under the piano when not in use. bench size is 5-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 1-5/8".
Here is the card: A2 size using the die cut corners from Cuttlebug. Metallic Gold paper is from Recollections Metallic Pack. Base of the card is using the Shiny Black (same as the piano)
Card inside is mat is Recollection Gold and recollections decorative paper.  The greeting is computer printed using the Free Chow Fun font. Actual greeting was found on easy to select the appropriate one.
This was really a quick project to make ...............hope it will inspire you make your own piano treat holder, too

Cascading Princess Card

Another Grand Niece having a birthday - she is now 6. She still loves the whole Princess thing so I got the opportunity to use some SVG cut files I've had for her birthday card. Concept for this card is called a Concertina Card: tutorial can be found on Splitcoast Stampers here. Changes on my version: cut 4-1/2" x 8-1/2" instead of the 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and cut diagonally from the end to end with one end 2". The pocket was created by adding 1" x 4-3/8" strips (scored 1/2" to make the fold) to wrap around each side of the back 4-1/4' x 5-1/2" piece and the "wings". Inspiration is from Melissa on her blog here where she had made a Cinderella Birthday invitation for her daughter. DCWV Spring Fling Paper Pack used for this card. The cut files are from Lettering Delights Once Upon a Time (Crown and Carriage) and Happily Ever After (Princess).  Finished card size had to be 4-4/4" x 6-5/8".
Pull open the carriage to reveal the Princess:
Card fully opened: measures 12-3/4" wide.
Here's the computer generated birthday message from the pull out pocket which is Stampin-Up Pretty in Pink Mat. Font is Lobster 2 (from
Embossing folders used on the 4-1/4" x 3-1/2" carriage: Cuttlebug Swiss Dots on the carriage top and door. Darice Embossing Folder is originally diagonal but the carriage can be positioned for the impression to be straight as shown - LOVE IT!!!!! Martha Stewart Grass Boarder Punch is used along the inside bottom.  Add adhesive rhinestones to the center of the wheels. Add a adhesive for the door knob, too.  Also add Diamond Stickles to the "curtains".
Her crown is Gold Card Stock from Kelly Paper. Embossing folders: Cuttlebug Swiss Dots on her dress and Cuttlebug Swirls for her hair. Diamond Stickles used for her "collar". This princess is 4-3/4" x 3".
See the Jolee's adhesive flowers and McGill punched white butterflies.
A closer look at the drown which is used to pull out the message. I did make the base of the crown two layers for more stability.  Gold Kelly Paper used along with Recollection Red Card Stock.  Add Yellow Stickles for bling.
Overhead view:
 Side view:
A closer look at the "pull down" mechanism for the Princess.
To make the "pull down" mechanism, a bit of trial and error here.  The red strip on the back of the Princess is my trial so I can be sure to position the "pull down" mechanism correctly on the card. To make this, cut (1) strip 1" x 7-1/2", on the 7-1/2" side, score 1/2", 3-1/2", 4", 7". Overlap and adhere the two 1/2" ends. Position strip on the back of the Princess. It took me 3 tries to get this adjust as you need.
 Card at back:
Cool card, eh? It took a bit longer than expected since I made some tweaks to the original card style. Taylor loved the card and I hope she will keep it for a long time.  Thank you for stopping by today.
