Anniversary Bitty Book

I've made many of these retired SU Books. This one is extra special: 50 years of Marriage is quite a milestone for any wedding couple. Their invitation in the shade of Old Olive set the foundation for this project. Shown here is the gift wrapped with an organdy ribbon.

Shown is the cover of the project with the accompanying card:

A close-up of the album: Silver charms on the spine of the album. The names are computer generated. Added touches of Sizzix die cut swirls around the hearts along with embossed texture background (Cuttlebug Tapestry Embossing Folder) used. The Scallop Oval Punch and Large oval used, too.

Here's the album cover: Again with textured background and computer generated message. Note this chipboard album was pre-painted with white prior to any decorating.

Inside album cover: The photo is from the invitation sent. Aren't they just the handsome couple? The photo was cut down to fit into the album pages.......there are more pages for other photos.

The inside cover message is computer generated: and truly their 50 years is a magical adventure............he's also a practicing Magician!

Holiday Basket Full of Treats

This basket is using the new Specialty Designer Paper (yes, 3 days in a row! I love it!) along with the Mistletoe Ribbon and new Holiday Merry Details Embosslit. This basket is quite elegant and hmmmmmmm....maybe for Valentine, too? The basket is exclusively from Stampin' Up and is called the Baskets & Blooms Sizzix Die. The only stamping involved: stamping the "To: From:" on the tag using Craft White Ink. Not too difficult - right?

Here is a close-up of the tag:

Top view of basket:

This is what is needed to complete this project: Real Red solid CS is used for the bottom of the Basket.

Tip: Because this paper is flocked, be sure to burnish with a bone folder:

The tag from the Basket & Blooms die was used and is perfect for this project. A scrap from the Specialty Designer Series Paper is used on the tag. Way cool: the SU Exclusive Merry Details Embosslit die is great for this tag. Mini Glue dots were used to attach the star and trees.

These are cut up scraps of Certainly Celery CS: cut them about 1/8" or smaller. Crumble then into a ball and you get matching filler. No need to run around to find the right color.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Christmas Punch (Level 2 Hostess)
  • CS: Specialty Designer Series Paper, Real Red, Old Olive, Whisper White, Certainly Celery
  • Ink: Craft White
  • Accys: SU Exclusive Baskets & Blooms Die, SU Exclusive Merry Details Sizzlits Die, Ribbon Originals Mistletoe Holiday Special, Fire Square Rhinestone Brad, Sticky Tape, Piercer, Mini Glue Dot

Thank you for your visit today.................XOXO

Holiday Sweet Treats

OK - I am really loving this Specialty Designer Series FLOCKED Paper. These Sweet Treat Cups will be available to order on September 1! They are inexpensive! Although you can put candy in the cups, I chose to put sprinkles for my first card - the possibilities are endless to fill these cups for any event! Finished card size: 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"

I love the flocked paper so much, I have to put it on the inside of the card, too.

Inside message:

Here's a closer look at the "ornament":

Stamp message, curl ribbon, attach pearl with mini glue dot. Attach message to card front with dimensionals. Tail of message is punched using a 1-1/4" square punch.

Things needed to make this card:
The flocked paper goes on top of the Whisper White CS.

Turn the flocked paper over (it's flocked on one side only). Position the sweet treat cup and lightly trace with a pencil. The opening needs to be 1-3/4" wide to slip the cup through. Note: the traced sweet treat cup is wider than 1-3/4". Use the Circle Scissors plus to cut out the circle.
The 1-3/4" punch will not go far enough into the card.

Here is the cut out circle. For this card, I chose to use the cut out circle as the background behind the sweet treat cup. So adhere it with snail adhesive.

Perfect! By using the cut circle as the background of the sweet treat cup, it becomes the template for the cup to be correctly placed on top. Fill the cup with snowflake sprinkles, remove the sweet treat cup adhesive, and press down. It's that easy!

To complete the card:

  • cut the grosgrain ribbon for the "string". Adhere with snail.
  • Tie a ribbon, adhere with a mini Glue Dot
  • Add a pearl, adhere with Mini Glue Dot

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Christmas Greetings, Sweet Centers
  • CS: Specialty Designer Series Paper, Real Red, Whisper White
  • Ink: Old Olive
  • Accys: Flat Back Pearls, 1/4" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, Mini Glue Dot, Dimensonals, Sweet Treat Cups, Snowflake Sprinkles (non SU), Circle Scissors Plus, 1-1/4" Square Punch.

Thank you for stopping by today...........I will certainly be playing with these cups again!

Holiday Treats

These are a variety of Treat Holders for the Holidays. Inside are Hershey Chocolate kisses. The treat holders are simple and quick and very easy to make (see details below in this post):

This was the original treat holder made from a recent shoebox event (5-1/2" long): Use the Sweet Swirl standard wheel in real red ink. Punch a Vellum Card Stock Snowflake and use the Large Oval punch for the message. Attach snowflake and message using dimensionals. Finish off with a single knot striped grosgrain ribbon. Easy! This size holds 6 Chocolate kisses.

Another version (5-1/2' long): LOVE that SU Exclusive Petals-a-Plenty Embossing folder used for this one. Scallop punch in Old Olive CS. Stamp the Pointsetta, cut and adhere to scallop circle using a dimensional. Summer Sun 1/8" Circles are adhered using Tombow adhesive to the Pointsetta center. The Modern Label Punched tag is simply slipped under the single knotted grosgrain ribbon.

My favorite version is using this exclusive FLOCKED designer paper that is only available starting September 1! This flocked paper is so cool and I love it! Ever seen a Old Olive snowflake? Here's one behind the message which is positioned in the center of the treat holder using dimenstionals on top of the punched snowflake. The old olive grosgrain ribbon is the finishing touch. This version is 5-1/2" long and also holds 6 Chocolate kisses.

Smaller version below is so cute (3" long)! This treat holder is also part of the specialty designer paper (soon to be available). Love that new snowflake punch. White taffeta ribbon is used for this treat holder along with a rhinestone brad. Attach to the ribbon with a mini glue dot............cute! This version holds 3 Chocolate kisses.

Here's another small version (3-3/4" long) with scallop edges both on the solid Real Red CS as well as on that great Designer Paper. A flat back pearl is in the center of the embossed snowflake. This version holds 4 Chocolate kisses.

Measurements:
To make the "standard" size treat holder: 5-1/2" long
(1) 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" CS
if using Score-pal: score 1-1/4", 2-1/4", 3-1/2"
To make the smaller treat holder versions, adjust length but keep width 4-1/4"
Tip: Add adhesive along the entire bottom of the treat holder to prevent the Chocolate kisses from falling out
Supplies:
  • Stamps: Sweet Swirl Standard Wheel, Christmas Punch (level 2 Hostess), Season of Joy, Sweet Season, Oval All
  • CS: Real Red, Whisper White, Card Stock Vellum, Specialty Designer Series Paper, Summer Sun
  • Ink: Real Red, Versmark
  • Accys: Snowflake Punch, Large Oval Punch, Dimensionals, 1/2" Real Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Punch, 1/8" Circle Punch, Tombow Glue, 5/8" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, SU Exclusive Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder, Modern Label Punch, Real Red and Old Olive Stampin' Write Pens, 1/4" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, Rhinestone Brad, Mini Glue Dots, White Embossing Powder, Flat back Pearl (from Pretties kit), 5/8" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, Sticky Tape.

Thank you for stopping by today to visit.....................XOXO

First Holiday Card!

Is it too early to post for Christmas? This is the first card I made from the up coming Mini catalogue (you can place an order as of September 1!). There are way too many cool items in this mini. I will be posting some sneaks from the mini this week. This card is a unique size: 3-1/4" x 6-1/2". This card will fit into the Small Open end Envelopes from SU Item #107286. The SU Exclusive Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder is way too cool!

Inside card:

Note the Oval message also acts as a closure. The embossed flap slips under the message.
Tip: Apply dimensional to the right and left side, the left side dimensional is to be positioned about 1/2" from the edge to allow the flap to slip under. It is best to fold the flap down then position the message in top to ensure closure is secure.

Components to make card:
(1) 3-1/4" x 11" Real Red CS
(1) 2-1/2" x 3" Old Olive CS
(1) 3-3/4" x 3" Whisper White CS

Score the Real Red CS at 4-1/2", this section will be embossed using the SU Exclusive Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder.

Position the 4-1/2" section into the embossing folder as shown:

Have ready: (2) Old Olive strips and single knot ties, (1) White stripe and single knot tie. Apply Sticky tape to the strips of grosgrain ribbon. Remove backing on sticky tape and position the strips of grosgrain on the flap. Apply mini glue dots for the grosgrain knots.
Tip: It is best to place the grosgrain strips a min of 1/4" above the card edge. Trim cleanly with scissors.
Tip: Sticky tape is applied to the grosgrain ribbon to prevent fraying

Supplies:
  • Stamps: Christmas Punch (Level 2 Hostess), Tree Trimmings
  • CS: Real Red, Old Olive, Whisper White
  • Ink: Real Red, Old Olive
  • Accys: SU Exclusive Petals a Plenty Embossing Folder, Large Oval Punch, Dimensionals, 1/4" Grosgrain in White and Old Olive, Mini Glue Dot, 1/16" Corner Rounder Punch, Sticky Tape.

Thank you for stopping by.................stay tuned for more Xmas.............XOXO

Final Wedding Post

Did you wonder what the wedding looked like? It was so fabulous - here's a photo of the restaurant with some of the 21 paper Double Happiness lanterns we hung from the ceiling using clear fishline.

Here are the placecards: they matched their wedding invitations.

Here's the "money cake". The cake is a set of 3 nested boxes that were sprayed white. It's decorated with Cherry Blossom die (Sizzix) around the front and back of the cake. The SU trio flower punch was used for the blossoms. The small green leaves were attached using tombow adhesive. On the cake top is a heart with the Dragon and Phoenix signifying male and female with Double Happiness word. There is an slot in the back of the 2nd and 3rd tier for the envelopes. The cake sat on top of a beautiful antique glass cake stand borrowed from a dear family friend.

On each table, doublesided menus along with a towering clear vase that was covered with georgous red and gold paper and a gold ribbon. The vase held baby's breath. Triangle table numbers were also using the same red and gold paper. I forgotten to get a photo of each table at the restaurant. This photo was taken from the home.

And here is the beautifully customed tailored Chinese dress:

The other side of the closet: the wedding dress:

Here's the vases before they got their gold ribbon:

Those table tops:

It was a great memorable event. I was so happy to be able to participate and contribute to this celebration for 2 dear people.
