A Birthday Purse Mini

Here's a project for my Grand niece who turned 12 years old.......a milestone! The Vintage Bliss Purse Album kit is from Pine Cone Press found here. This mini album is a purse style with dot grosgrain handles. I love the brad closure with a elastic loop (attached on the purse back).  Finished purse size is 10" x 6-1/2" x 3-1/4". Front purse cover is different from the original concept.  The flowers and other embellishments are all from my stash. One of the changes I made to the kit was to switch out the white card stock base for Kraft card stock. I also added a narrow strip of decorative paper on the page panel so you do not see any solid strip between each page.
Large silk flower and paper flowers - all having adhesive flowers in the centers. The greenery is from some silk flower garlands. Peeking out on the left side is a wooden embellishment.
A Wooden butterfly embellishment with a paper flower and adhesive rhinestone:

Personalized using my Silhouette to cut out her name:
The inside pages:  Note there are paper clips and yellow post it notes on many  of the pages.  All the pages will be filled with candid photos from the first 12 years of Lauren's life...........cool, eh?  But since the photos have not been through final selection, mats are not permanently glues into place yet.  This way, I have the option to make the mats smaller or larger.
 The purse back:
I love this project. Hope you liked it, too................

Making Ribbon Leis

What? Another new hobby and project?  Yup, I started to make these wonderful creations because they have such the "wow" factor..............not only was I amazed I actually completed this ribbon lei - yup - a lei made completely of ribbon. This lei finishes about 42" in length, measuring all the way around.  I met Chris Tanizawa at a San Leandro Craft show last year and she was selling this, and many other kits.  Think of it - each lei can be made in any color of your needs...................love that!  Chris offers FREE lei -making classes in Union City, California if you are in the neighborhood.   You can contact her for the various lei kits she has along with a schedule of her FREE classes at ctanizawa@gmail.com
There are 5 different ribbon used for this lei.  I thought I was a bit out of my mind to tackle this project after thinking and becoming overwhelmed by all the ribbon pieces that needed to be cut (over 700 separate pieces)...................then folding (like origami) and threading them to make the shapes.............boy..............what a great result. I definitely will be making more of these.
This is a "guy" lei ..............love the nuts and sea shells............
 And, a closer look:
Here's another lei using pink and Burgundy red ribbons along with dark green................
Here's close-up:
Hope this inspires you to try something new...............................thank you for coming by to see what's up.

CHA - Various Make & Takes

OK - last CHA make and takes posting.........there were more make and takes but I think this was plenty to share.....................This card was made at the Jillibean Soup Booth - gads, their products are soooo cute and inspiring. Original card was using colored pencils but I came home and used my Copics to color the numbers.  This was a card finishing 4" x 4-3/4". Note the Balloon is popped with foam squares. The touch of adhesive rhinestones is nice.
Here is a double pocket card made at the Scotch Booth: Made from one piece of 12x12  double sided paper by folding and tucking in just a couple corners. Manila tags are tucked into each pocket. paper Flowers with adhesive bling for the flower centers were supplied to create this card.
Revealing the surprise: not just any Manila tag - Manila tags that have word cut outs.  Manila tags are 2-1/2" x 4-1/2".
Card inside: I added a white card stock mat for a handwritten message,
Final project of CHA being posted: from Spellbinders.  Their embossing folder and feather die.  We used a thin glassine paper to release the detail die but many of us decided to add it to the A2 card as a subtle touch of embellishment.
Now that's it...............end of my many days of CHA make and takes.  Hope you all enjoyed what was made - there were lots more, too..............but I didn't get a chance to participate in making them..........next time........

CHA - Tombow Make & Take

Are you ready for a nice A2 card?  This one was created by the Tombow Adhesive Designers at CHA this year.  The paper used, I know is from Graphic 45.    I am told the card base is from Bazill and is already scalloped (oh so perfectly) on three sized.  All the die cut pieces were supplied for us to adhere to the card.  I added the adhesive pearls shown here after I got home.  A nice Ivory ribbon (also supplied) is a finishing touch.
Here is a closer look at the die cut pieces with adhesive pearls:
Yikes - you can not see the subtle Gelly Roll Clear Star pen used on the fence........see the next photo for a more noticeable photo:
The Gelly Roll Clear Star pen was also used on the columns shown here.....subtle shine.
Here's another quick tag that was made at one of the stand-up counter at the Tombow Adhesive booth.  I did add some soft brown sponged edges to this tag/note card. Finished project size is 4" x 3".
This project at the Tombow Adhesive booth was a wooden plaque covered with patterned paper and trim around the edges. Can you see the doily?   A covered painted white clothespin become a butterfly with some additional embellishments. Finished project size  4-3/4" diameter.
You can see the painted white clothes pin underneath the butterfly wings here;
This project can be used for holding notes, bills, mail.........................

CHA - Taylored Expressions Make & Take

Here are a couple fun makes and takes at the Taylored Expressions booth - their web site here. This cute coffee treat wasn't a make and take cut a treat for all.  All products are made from Taylor's new release. This little coffee pouch is 3" x 4-3/4". Love the little coffee cup (that's a Taylor Expressions die).  I added some brown ink to the edges.
And, here is an A2 card using one of the new release dies. I love the cloud background paper. The large framed tree with leaves is one big die.  The birds are a separate die popped with foam squares. The heart is a wood embellishment.
more make and takes tom..................stay tuned.......................

CHA - Prima Make & Take

This fabulous vintage feeling tag was a make and take at the Prima booth.............you know those fabulous Prima Products!!!! The finished tag size is 3-1/8" x 6-1/4".  We started out with a plain vanilla tag, then covered it with the Prima designer paper.  There are three layers on this tag. Can you see them?  And don't you just love that adhesive button with rayon ribbon at the bottom of the tag? No stamping done here....................
You can see the three layers popped with foam squares here: The small images are part of a booklet of images from Prima's new product release - simply tear them out to embellish your project.
Darn, I was trying to show off the shiny mist - the finishing touch - on this tag.  It creates just enough subtle shine on the tag - yup, just another new Prima product!
Thanks for stopping by today to visit................yup, more make and takes so stay tuned..........

CHA - Maya Road Make & Take

Maya Road always has something fun in their booth. This is a camera made from one of their chipboard albums - it was not a make and take but I wanted to share this project to all.   It is pretty cool and inspiring. I think the lens is some sort of container wit the lid painted black. The paper is from Simple Stories.  All the other embellishments are from Maya Road - they will be posting the instructions on how to make this project some time in the near future.
Here';s a closer look at the "lens"
The side shows the box "walls" with a ring to hold the camera strap.
Yes, it really is a camera mini album using the chipboard pages.
Project back:
Now for the make and takes: this is a project made using one of the large tins, lined with a fabric flower, then position the magenta colored jute.  Attach the wood bird, message, and bird button.  Always love the Star stick pin pushed through the fabric flower. Finished project size is 3-1/2".
The second Maya Road make and take is a chipboard tag.  Finished size is 4" x 7-3/4". Look closely: for the metal paper clip, two stick pins, yellow floss as a embellishment, daisy, fabric flower (which we made from fabric by the yard), shiny flat back pearl for the center of the flower, and a pre-made fabric flower (also it can be purchased by the yard). I added the white tag which can be slipped in for a personal note.
Here's a closer look.
Do you just love it?  Stay tuned for for more make and takes.......................
