It will be the Year of the Monkey starting on February 8, 2016. Tradition called to pass out lucky envelopes to those who are single (unmarried).  My inspiration for these projects are posted in the gallery of Mama Elephant's site found here .  I loved the inspiration so I duplicated them exactly as shown in the gallery. Original designer for these envelopes is Vera Rhuhay (her blog is moccavanilla.blogspot.com and can be found here). The Mama Elephant Lunar Animals and Mama Elephant Lunar Extra stamp and die sets were used along with the Lucky Envelope - Creative Cuts die also from Mama Elephant. These stamp sets can be found here. Health and Happiness Lucky Cat Card

Inspiration for this card is posted in the gallery of Mama Elephant's site found here .  .  Mama Elephant Lunar Extras stamp and die set used for this card. It is a A2 size card. The stamp set can be found here. Card base is a Light green textured card stock from my stash. The images are stamped using Versafine Onyx Black ink, clear embossing powder used  for a more intense result. To make the double layer front, the cut file from the Silhouette store was used. (it is a A2 Snowman Pop Dot Card Design #101040 by Lori Whitlock).  The designs on the corners have been removed by using the Silhouette program. Obviously, the snowman and snowflakes were not used for this card. To make the mountain, another Silhouette file was used: Japan Set Design #78506 - an adjustment to the height of of the mountain was made to the file.
A 1-1/4" Circle punch used for the sun.  Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink used to sponge the edges.
The cherry blossom branch is slipped on to the second layer of the card.
Copic colors used:
Branch: E35, E37, E39
Flowers: R00, R20
Leaves: YG95, YG25
Lucky Cat is positioned on the second layer.
Copic colors used:
Lucky Cat: YG25, YG23, Y17, R00, R20, R29, R24
Buns on plate: W2, R20, R29
Thank you for stopping by today. Have a crafty day!

Happy New Year Lucky Cat Card

Inspiration for this card is posted in the gallery of Mama Elephant's site found here .  I loved it so much as is, the only thing I changed was the stamped message.  Mama Elephant Lunar Extras stamp and die set used for this card. It is a A2 size card. The stamp set can be found here. I can't believe I made a white card. Usually I make cards in colors but this one turned out pretty nice in white card stock. The images are stamped using Versafine Onyx Black ink, clear embossing powder used  for a more intense result. Oh yes, did I mention this is a shaker card?  A 3" Spellbinders circle die is used to make the area for the show. Position clear acetate behind the circle, then add some pink sequins and sparkle glitter flakes and foam tape for a great effect.
You can see the glitter flakes and pink sequins more clearly in this photo.
Copic Colors used:
Lucky cat: YG25, YG23, Y17, R00, R20, R29, R24
Copic colors used
Branch: E35, E37, E39
Flowers: R00, R20
Leaves: YG25, YG95
Lantern: Y15, Y17, R22, R24, R27, R29
Thank you for stopping by today. Have a great crafty day.

Lunar Animals Wishing You Good Fortune for 2016

Feels like I simply skipped the holidays and moved onto the upcoming lunar celebration: It will be the Year of the Monkey starting on February 8, 2016. My inspiration for this card is posted in the gallery of Mama Elephant's site found here .  The Mama Elephant Lunar Animals and Mama Elephant Lunar Extra stamp and die sets were used for this card. It is a A2 size card.  These stamp sets can be found here. Card base is White card stock.  There is a popped up Gold Mat, then a cloud pattern paper. The cloud pattern paper is from my stash - I thought I would never use this paper but it sure came in handy.  The mountains were made using a Silhouette file (Mountains by Hero Arts Design #29821) .  I stamped some "texture" using a retired stamp from Stampin-Up called Itty Bitty Backgrounds. Those hills? They are from Lawn Fawn #LF772 Stitched Hillside Borders
Here's a closer look at those Lunar animals: I chose the Pig and the Tiger which are popped with foam squares.  The images are first stamped using Versafine Onyx Black ink, then a clear embossing powder is applied for more intensity. Having the dies for these animals makes it a breeze to die cut.
Copic colors used:
Pig: R00, R02, R22, R24
Tiger: YR24, YR23, YR21, R29
The Cherry Blossom Branch is from the Lunar Extras stamp set from Mama Elephant.  It is stamped using Versafine Black Onyx ink, then a clear embossing powder is applied. Pop it with foam squares after die cutting. The Asian Character, part of the Lunar Extras stamp set, is also stamped using Versafine Black Onyx ink with a clear embossing powder, then popped with foam squares.
Copic colors used:
Branch: E35, E37, E39
Flowers: R00, R20
Leaves: YG25, YG95
Hope you enjoyed this card and will make one, too. Have a great crafty day.
