Year of the Ox Sister Stamps

This is the August release for the Sister Stamps Zodiac series. Continuing today will be the Year of the Ox. I chose to make this Lantern Shape card using my SCAL program. The lantern shape is a SVG cut file from Penny Duncan Designs and the file name is called Nunestie Set-3Penny has her blog which can be found here. She has some amazing creations and you will need to check her out.  Paper used is from Recollections Spice Market paper pack.  Gold card stock is from Kelly Papers. Finished card measures 4-5/8" x  4-1/4" (excluding the tassel).
Gold cord is used for the lantern handle and also is wrapped around the top.
The Ox is stamped using Neenah White card stock, cut out, then popped with foam squares, attached to Recollections Vanilla card stock.
Copic colors used: W1, W3, R30, E30, E31, E27, E34, E44, E71. Cut and pop up with foam squares.
The lanterns as embellishment with the Ox Kanji word cut three times on top of the embossed gold card stock.  The "Year of the Ox" is computer generated using the Chow Fun Font.

A really nice surprise to get in the mail from my very good gal pal Gina Taylor who is a Stampin - Up Demonstrator (celebrating her 10th year whoo-hoo). She has a blog which can be found here. So check her out!!!! And, if you are ever in need of ANY Stampin-Up supplies, she's your gal.  She has the best customer service ever! More Birthday Surprises

OK - my friends KNOW my absolute favorite color is RED so I usually get things in that color.  Of  course I got this red Bag from one of my creative friends: Gail W. with a terrific hand made tag using my favorite paper from My Little Shoe Box. inside the bag was a beautiful orchid plant (OMG - I hope I don't kill it) in a red ceramic pot.  This little Washi goodie bag contained some fabulous teas and a notebook - soo cute.
Want to see the tag closer up? see............cute, eh?
Now this gift is from another creative pal: Jackie C. I absolutely LOVE the Kawaii bag with those funny cups. Inside is a cute personally packaged coffee ensemble.  A hand made gift tag and gift card holder - LOVE this!!!!! I don't want to take it apart but I have to in order to spend the gift card.
Here's a closer look at the hand made tag and that gorgeous cup charm hanging with the that charm!!!!!

Oh - it was such a beautiful celebration with my friends.  This was a very memorable event.
Thank you Gail and Jackie for a wonderful time.

A Cherry Blossom Birthday Greeting

Are you ready for this? Another great card from Jan C.  (her blog is here) I always love getting her cards because they are thrilling.  This card base is Cream and the pink and dark green green card mats are shimmer paper which does not show in this photo. The cherry blossom branch stamp is from Serendipity #444G on a cream card stock.  Jan used Versamark ink, sprinkled age Embossing Enamel from Stampeddous, and hit it with a heat gun. The result sis beautiful iridescence with gold chunks in various areas.

Flowers are using Copic markers to color.  Dots of Scotch Quick-Dry Adhesive Glue on a few flower petals are randomly positioned. Then, using tweezers, 'Color Fragments - Rose' by Archivers and placed on top of the dots. The process was repeated until all flowers are covered.  Lightly edged this top layer with  'Bamboo Leaves' dye ink by Memento .
See the iridescent embossing powder with chunks of gold and those fragments:
To get this seal to look like this, Jan used  'Delicata Golden Glitz Pigment Ink'. The stamp is  from 'A Stamp In The Hand ''H-1895 Chop #2' . This is very shiny in person.
This was such a nice surprise to receive - beautifully executed..................thank you so much Jan!!!!

Hit the Wave B'day card

OK - this birthday card I received has to be car-razy GREAT. I got this card from my friend Kris G. This gal's creativity totally blew my socks off with this card. She knows how I love a 3D card.............well, wait 'til you see this one. This is the card flat..............card size is 6" x 8-1/4". Pretty large and impressive, too. I love the solid paper she used: sparkly and edges are sponged to give lots of character. Those Penguins are sure having lots of fun surfin the high waves.
Pull open the front Penguin panel holding the surf board to reveal two other Penguins: one is riding the surf board on the wave and one sitting on the board.........the action is so cool!!! It totally surprised me!
So here are the Penguins:
 Love this computer generated message:
 Side view of card:
Can you figure out how this card was made?  Crazy, eh? This is the piece that swings out for that WOW factor!
Didn't Kris do a great job?  I love the colors used. I also found out the paper used is digital!!!! Can you believe that?  No wonder  - I could never find "wave-like" paper anywhere. Geeze..............

Mickey Tea Cup Set

Now this project turned out amazing. It was made as a Thank You gift for a friend who loves isney and she absolutely loved it - I should have video taped her reaction.  It is a simple tea cup with Mickey hands. The teacup is from my favorite site and the collection is called Tea for You and Me found here. The Mickey Gloves is also a SVG cut file from Miss Kate Cuttables and can be found here.  Simple to make and a wowsa reaction. Tea cup size is "human" size but just doesn't hold tea. In the tea cup are individually wrapped Madelines.
Here's the tea cup in Black and Red. The Black  card stock is a sturdy weight canvas texture from American Crafts. The ovals are a simple shape cut from the SVG library.
A closer look at the hands: simply back and white card stock...........
The spoon is a yellow canvas textured card stock with a Small Mickey punch I had from my stash (I think it is really old).
I can see other "themes" using this cut file................more versions of the teacup to come.........thank you for stopping by to visit.
