Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween to all!!! Here's the last Halloween project........another SVG cut file from SVGcuts.com collection called Haunted Hemlock Cards. There is a group of three cards - this one I like the best. They are sooooo easy to make. I ansolutely love shaped cards and this one is pretty cool. The most itme consuming? Curling the flower....after all, it has eight layers. Finished card size is 5-1/2" x 6"

The Flower is a massive arrangment with Black leaves (punch by SU Bird Punch).

The buckle is cut using silver foil paper stacked on top of 2 layers black CS. I'm lovin the purple glitter hat band.

Inside the card, a white rub on is used. Cool how it does match the paper with the birds.

Here's what the mat looks like when arranging to cut the SVG file on the computer. Note: 3 buckles were cut: one is silver color and the other 2 in Black CS so it would resemble chipboard.

To make the flowers pop a little: use the flower tool (the white plastic one) and a foam mat. The flowers were jsponged with Bllack ink and some "lines" were made using Purple Smooch. Layer each flower usng Tombow adhesive. I did find a black adhesive Rhinestone for the center.

Supplies:

  • CS: AC Black, Su Lovely Lilac, SU Almost Amethyst, SU More Mustard, SU Summer Sun, Core-dinations Lavender Glitter Paper, AC Silver Foil, Martha Stewart Halloween DSP

  • Accys: SVGcuts.com Haunted Hemlock Card Elegant Witches Hat cut file, Dimensionals, 2 Way Glue Pen, Black Adhesive Rhinestone, SU Halloween Rub-On, SU Bird Punch

Thank you for stopping by today and stay tuned for the Holidays.............................

Elmhurst Hollow Coffin Box

Good morning all: here is the 4th and last project from the Elmhurst Hollow SVG Collection from SVGcuts.com. It's a Coffin Box. I always wanted to make one of these and this cut file made it sooooo simple to do. I did adjust the box to be slightly larger but other than that, the box is the same as the cut file. This box top design is the same as the Coffin Card posted 10-21-11 on friday. I actually wanted to add a full moon so used a 2-3/4" circle to make it with SCAL (Sure Cuts a Lot), then embossed it using Cuttlebug Swirl Embossing Folder. By Adding SU More Mustard ink to sponge edges, and then popping it with dimensionals, the moon came "alive". Finished coffin size is 5" x 1-3/4" x 2-1/2".

Here is a better view of the moon and those bats.

Another view of the box:

The top of the lid is quite sturdy: it is re-enforced with a double layer in the cut file. There is also a lining for the top and bottom of the box.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: none

  • CS: Black, SU Old Olive, SU More Mustard, SU Halloween DSP (retired)

  • Ink: Craft White, SU Old Olive, SU More Mustard

  • Accys: Black Eylets, 1/4" Black Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals, Gold Adhesive Rhinestone

Thank you for stopping by today................I hope you enjoyed the projects from the Elmhurst Hollow Collection.

Elmhurst Hollow Full Moon Card

And, here is the 2nd project from the Elmhurst Hollow Collection from SVGcuts.com. It's called a Full Moon Card. I love the style and shape of this card along with the 3-D aspect of the card. The tree was sponged, embossed, then added to the left side of this card. Tree is from another SVG cut file (Haunted Hemlock Cards) also from SVGcuts.com.

Here's the layered flower with a glitter brad covering the pop-up mechanism. The flower is sponged using SU Old Olive and Craft White. A small patch of grass was added to the inside bottom of the card.

Bats have 2 layers: The dark grey and the light grey parts are sponged using black ink, popped with dimensionals and lastly, add red adhesive rhinestones for their eyes. I'm not sure where the printed words DSP originated from.......sponge the edges with SU More Mustard ink, spritz with Pearl Smooth for a shimmery effect................by the light of the shiny moon..right?

Shimmery effect:

Here's the inside of the card: Vanilla Card Stock with SU more Mustard sponged edges using that Inkssentials blending tool (you know the one: a wooden handle with removable foam pads). Message left blank for now.

Side view: The front gate is about 5/8" away from the main card. There is a small extension behind the gate to allow fold up/down.

This card can be folded flat to place in an envelope:

Supplies:

  • Stamps: None

  • CS: Black, Kraft, SU Old Olive, SU Grey, SU Light Grey

  • Ink: Craft White, SU Old Olive, SU More Mustard, Black, SU Close to Cocoa

Elmhurst Hollow Haunted House

This will be the only Halloween House I will make this year. Last year, I made a bunch of them in various themes. This year, I saw this house on SVGcuts.com designed by Mary - her Elmhurst Hollow Collection contains a Haunted House and other haunted projects which will be posted later this week. The house is embossed with a spider web embossing folder and all edges are sponged using Craft White ink. Printed paper: scraps I had from last year that worked really well. Finished house measures 8" x 5" x 8-1/4". This Haunted House is really special because it lights up through those vellum windows using those small LED candles.

See? Here's the house back opening to position the three candles
Here's the house with the candles during the day lit up:
With the lights shut off, the house looks great!!!! Love the spooky eyes on the roof.

In the house center, adhesive orange rhinestone eyes with vellum backs peer out from the roof:

In the right side roof, a small bat is attached to wires:

Left side has a larger bat attached with a wire:

House center window frames are in SU Green Galore CS and the boards are cut using SU Lavender Lace. The nail heads: Sukura Glaze Pen - love that pen!!!!

Of course, every house has to have a front porch with a pumpkin

Right house bottom has boards and also a pumpkin:

On the side of the house are additional vellum windows:

Left house bottom double multi windows with a pumpkin:

Supplies:

  • Stamps: None

  • CS: Black, SU Lavender lace, SU Glorious Green, Vellum Card Stock, Recollections Orange, Scrap DSP

  • Ink: SU Craft White, Black,

  • Accys: SVGcuts.com Elmhurst Hollow Collection, Gold Adhesive Rhinestones, Wet Adhesive, 3 LED lights, Sakura Glaze Black Pen, Wire, Sponge Daubers, Spider Web Cuttlebug Embossing Folder

Thank you and stay tuned for more from this collection.....................

Spooky Diorama Card

Another SCAL (Sure Cuts a Lot computer program) card using a SVG cut file from Scrappedlives.nl - check out the site for additional cut files. Everything shown is in the cut file except the front stamped message. Now how easy can this be? This gate fold diorama card has cool shutters. All pieces are sponged with either black ink or SU Craft White ink. Finished card measures 4" x 5" and will fit into a A2 envelope.....Yay!

Here's the "Open if you Dare" stamped message....I think I found this in the $1 spot last year (before Michael's changed it to be the $1.50 spot!)

Open the left shutter to reveal a spider web:

Open the right shutter to reveal the "BOO" words stamped using SU Craft White ink.....

With all the shutter doors open, the center is the diorama: window is a black mat. A pair of Ghosts popped with dimensionals. I did add a 4"x 4" SU retired Halloween DSP scrap. And, yes, everything is sponged with black ink.

Here is the top view. The shutters? They are attached in the slots so they are "hidden".

Here is the card collapsed to send out.

Here are the pieces cut from the SVG cut file to make this card:

This is how the pieces are placed on the computer:

Supplies:

  • Stamps: unknown

  • CS: SU Pumpkin Pie, Recollections Black-White, SU Grey, SU retired Halloween DSP

  • Ink: SU Black, SU Craft White

  • Accys: SVG Cut File for Spooky Diorama Card, Dimensionals, Sticky Tape, White Gel pen, Sponge Dauber, 2 Way Glue Pen

And, if you don;t have the SCAL (Sure Cuts a Lot computer program) to make this card, visit Jackie Topa's Blog posted 10/25/2010 for some instructions on how to make this card/box using some tools you may already have on hand.

This card was fun to make and really quick, too......thanks for visiting today.

Batty 4 You Card

This was a free cut file from MY Scrap Chick - not sure if it is still available now. It was a quick and simple card to make if you have SCAL (Sure Cuts a Lot program). I made a similar card last year but had to hand cut it.............this was waaaay easier!!!! I had to try it immediately when I saw it.

closer face details: wiggle googlie eyes, glitter cheeks, glitter ears. Eyes and cheeks are popped with dimensionals.

"batty" edges sponged with various colors:

Open the left wing to reveal "4"

Open the right wing to reveal "You" where edges are sponged with various colors

Here's what the cut file look like on the computer screen......not much color separation so that's why the words were made more colorful. This was a free cut file from My Scrap Chick

Sponge bat edges with craft White ink:
