Witch Treat Hats

These witches hats have been everywhere. I finally got a chance to make them in a smaller scale. I also love it when someone else has a video instruction already made (which makes it so much easier for me). Check into the video made by Tami White on her blog: www.stampwithtami.com (the video is from Oct. 12, 2009). Mini glue dots were used to close the hats isntead of ribbon. Inside are gummy candies. ooops.............just noticed I forgot to take a single photo of the Spider Witch Hat treat................but you get the idea. Finished hat size: 3-1/2" x 4-1/2" x 1-3/4".

The Batty one: there are small googlie eyes

The Scaredy Cat: Eyes are adhesive red rhinestones

Frank: notice I gave him a cool hairline and some scars?

To make this smaller witch hat:
(1) 7" x 3-1/2", score along the 7" side @3-1/2". Find the center of the 3-1/2" (which is 1-3/4"), make a light pencil mark, score at the center lightly marked pencil line to the center fold line. Repeat 3 times to make two triangles on each side of the fold line.
(1) 1" x 4-1/2" strip, cut away 1" to "0" to make the brim
(1) 3/4" x 2-1/2" contrast solid strip
(1) Scallop Circle in contrast solid color\
(1) 1-3/8" Circle in contrast solid color, add dimensional, then adhere to Hat
(1) 1-1/4" stamped image on Whisper White

Supplies:
  • Stamps: Batty for You
  • CS: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Black, Whisper White, Eggplant (retired), Barely Banana (retired), Printed DSP (non SU)
  • Ink: Black
  • Accys: Scallop Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Dimensionals, Sticky Tape, Mini Glue Dots, Black Stampin' Write pen
