5-28-09 added info: Disney Princess Stamp set can be found on line. The larger set is www.ritzcamera.com/EP67014101.htm and the smaller set used for the cake is www.ritzcamera.com/EP56317392.htmThis project was fun but took longer than I expected...........maybe because I design "on the fly" and there is a lot of coloring. The Pink Pirouette lid has many layers of soft colors: Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette. One of the layers is stamped using the swirl from the Perfect Princess set, embossed in white. The Pink Pirouette layer is stamped with the swirl stamp using Pink Pirouette ink for subtle effect. Top it off with the crown from the set and "bling", along with the embossed white Princess word: all on dimensionals. 1" Pink Organdy ribbon is tied around the lid.
Here's a close-up view of the lid. Note: the bling is attached using tweezers and Tombow Glue.Side view of the lid showing the many layers and dimensionals used.Front view of the Cake in Pretty in Pink CS. "Princess" is stamped after computer generated Emma was printed. All images on the cake are with 1-1/4" Circles in Pink Pirouette, attached using Tombow glue to the cake.
Back of the cake:
Here's the box "flat" showing all the images on the squares. All squares are stamped using Pink Pirouette ink swirl stamp.Close-up view on the "Happy Birthday" square. The glitter is applied using Stickles freehand. The mirror has Stickles glitter applied. Butterflies are colored using Stampin' Write Pretty in Pink and Pink Passion. Some of the carriage is outlined using the Stampin' Write Pretty in Pink pen while the leaves are using Old Olive. Stickles is applied on the outline of the carriageAnd, here is the Birthday girl: Her name using the Big Shot exclusive SU Billboard die, and the Castle roofs shine with Stickles glitter. Swirl under the name is done freehand using Stickles. Don't forget to color in the heart in the castle using Stampin' Write Pretty in Pink Pen.So how was this project made? The images on the squares are clear stamps from EK Success. Once upon a time, they were available from Target - these got snatched up very quickly. I had to go to a few store to find a set. Each image is stamped using Staz-On ink, then colored using various SU Stampin' Write pens. Of course, I'd forgotten the color in each Princess so had to turn to the Disney site for help! Thank goodness for the Internet. A corner rounder was used after all images were colored. Tip: make sure enough time is planned for coloring all images. The 2nd clear stamp used is also from EK Success. It is a separate purchase from a local craft store. They are the perfect size for the cake: 1" in diameter! Then 1-1/4" punched Pink Pirouette is used to frame the image. (Plan enough images around the cake to avoid unnecessary coloring).Supplies:- EK Success Princess Stamps, SU Perfect Princess, SU Elegant Greetings (retired since 1999)
