Pencil Holder Tutorial

edited 5/21:
I had received a couple request for this tutorial. Thank you for your patience. The original Pencil Holder was posted on this blog on Teacher's Week 4/17/09 .
So to make this, prepare CS to be cut for (Photo visual below):
  • Pencil holder: 4-3/4" wide x 6-1/8" high, score 3/8, 1-3/4", 3/8", 1-3/4", 3/8. Turn paper to score 3/8" (so sorry this is not marked in the photo)
  • Pencil holder cover: 4-15/16" wide x 3-3/8" high, score 3/8", 1-7/8", 3/8", 1-7/8", 3/8". Turn paper to score 3/8" as shown in photo (so sorry this is not marked int he photo)

Tip: Be sure to use sticky tape to hold both the holder and cover together if solid CS is used. Snail can be used on Designer Paper since it is slightly lighter in weight.

Using the 1" Circle Punch, punch opening of the Pencil Holder (see below).
A version of the pencil holder using the Raspberry Tart Designer Paper below:

And this is the finished Pencil Holder:

Inside the Pencil Holder Cover reveals......

A close-up of the Cover: Attach 5/8" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon around the Pencil Holder cover. There are 3 layers of Butterflies: each in Raspberry Tart DS, Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss attached by using Mini Glue Dots. These sit on top of a 1-1/4" Cameo Coral Circle which, with a dimensional, sits on top of a Kiwi Kiss scallop Circle and leaves. "For You" (from the Happy Everything stamp set)message is stamped on Whisper White using Black ink , punched out using the Small Oval Punch.

Here's another close-up view of the cover: Tip: Shape the butterflies by "curling" their wings so they aren't so flat!

Supplies used for Raspberry Tart Pencil Holder:

  • Stamps: Happy Everything
  • CS: Raspberry Tart Designer Paper, Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss, Cameo Coral, Whisper White
  • Ink: Black
  • Accys: Big Shot SU Exclusive Beautiful Butterflies Die, Big Shot SU Exclusive Little Leaves, Small Oval Punch, 5/8" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Dimensional, Mini Glue Dots.

Like it? Thank you all for stopping by today!
