July 4th Celebration Top Hats

For the July 4th Celebration, My Scrap Chick had this top hat that was so cool. The SVG cut file can be found here. I had to make it to fill with some treats.................I made no changes from the original file...........it was quick and easy using my Silhouette to cut these top hats.  Finish the top hat with 5/8" white organdy ribbon around the brim. Finished project size is 3-1/2" x 3-1/2".
The message is computer generated, then it is die cut using the Stampin-Up Label Punch.  I added some Gold around the outside edge of the label using the Krylon Gold Pen. Then it is popped with a foam square, attached to the hat.
Pull off the lid (see the thumb pull on the side of the hats?).
Look at all the candy treats this top hat holds........and don't forget that "popper" for a "bang" of a time!
And, on the bottom of the hat is a personal note about this hat - well, it is "hand made".............I found this stamp many years ago and it was a perfect finish for this project.
Thank you for stopping by and hoped you all had a great long restful weekend celebrating with family or friends!

Hana's graduation

I thought I was done with all the graduations this year.............one more.  So I decided to make this cute card using the FREE SVG cut file from Scrapping Bug Designs (found here).  It was re sized to fit the card.  Luckily, I had some graduation paper I had not used this year and this owl image worked out great.  In addition, I also quickly made a graduation ribbon lei, too in the Yellow and green school colors. The centers of the flower is a soft ivory color which worked out well. The Bubble Message is a Hero Art Stamp, cut, then popped on foam squares. paper used is Recollections Green, Yellow, Black,White, and Kraft.  Scraps of Orange used for the beak.  The owl and beak have been lightly sponged with  brown ink. Decorative paper is from Doodlebug Cap and Gown #3859 Wise Guys

Open the card to reveal the inside: Another owl..........decorative paper is Doodlebug Cap and Gown #3862 Valedictorian
Card inside owl has 'wobble' mechanism
See the Owl spring into action:
The diploma is a stamped image from Hero Arts.  Copic colors are used to color it.
card inside message is computer generated:
Thank you for stopping by today and I KNOW this was definitely the LAST graduation project I will be making this year..............!!!!

Maleficent Treat Tins

The movie Maleficent opened and it has already become the top movie.  I had seen the sneak peek of this movie while in Disneyland at the Bug Theater................so of course, I  had to go with a bunch of gals.  We had a great time.  The movie definitely had some eyeopening twists and turns that were not expected. To also remember the event, I made these decorated Altoid tins for each gal.  There is a Silhouette cut file from their on line store so the pieces all fit so perfectly on the tin.  I easily added the textured mat using the Silhouette computer program. To achieve the textured mat, rub some black ink on the Darice Crackle embossing folder, then run the Purple card stock through the Cuttlebug.  The scalloped mat is cut in Recollections Silver card stock. The silhouettes of Sleeping Beauty and Maleficent can be found on line, too. The red adhesive heart is a finishing touch.
Look at all these cute tins!
The silver scalloped card stock mat is popped with foam squares.
Open the tin to reveals some fun!  The stamped message on the lid is from Jaded Blossom stamp set called V is for Villain. The candy stamps are also from Jaded Blossom called Villain Candies found here. Both the stamp set and candy stamps are sold together as a "bundle".
Here's a closer look at the lid:
And, a closer look at the candies, too. Note the inside of the tin is entirely covered using Recollections Black card stock
Now are these the cutest or what?

Update Blog Posts

Hello Everyone,

I have a question to throwout to the Blog world. I have asked the Blog Help desk but their answer to my issue makes no sense and I am wondering what others have experenced lately.

Some of you have mentioned the blog posts have not been sent to your e-mail address notifying of the blog post.  I have not changed anything on my blog settings at all. Apparently, it has been several weeks since this had been happening..........i am so sorry for this issue.

Does anyone with some knowledge about blogger know how to remedy this issue?  I would really appreciate the information about this.

For those who are receiving my blog updates, thank you for your visit. I will continue to posts my projects at least 3 times a week.

thank you so much for your help

my best, Patti
