12 Projects: Joy at Christmas Card

This “Joy at Christmas” card was inspiration from Melanie Watson 11/4/2010 - I couldn't find her blog (or I didn't write it down) and she has a video on how to make the unique opening but wanted to give her so much credit for inspiring me! . I will update this posting if I find it.

Update 12/15 in the afternoon: found the info!!!! yay: the inspiration is from "Let me Stamp" Melany Watson posted on 11/10/2010 and her blog site is www.melanystamps.typepad.com She has a step by step on how to create the Decorative Window used for this card!!!

Gold Organdy Ribbon tied and attached to the strip of Gold Organdy Ribbon.

To make this card:
(1) (1) 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” in Chocolate Chip, score @4-1/4” along the 8-1/2” side
(1) 5-1/4” x 8-1/4” in Real Red, emboss with Petals-a-Plenty Folder
(1) 4-3/4” x -7-3/4” in Chocolate Chip
(1) 3-1/2” x 3-1/2” in DSP, use Decorative punch to create “opening” – see Melanie’s tutorial (will update later)
(1) 3” x 3” in Real Red – to be positioned behind punched DSP
(1) punched 2-3/8” Extra Large Scallop Circle in Chocolate Chip, pierce scallops, apply dimensionals
(1) Stamp and punch “Joy at Christmas” from the Perfect Phrases stamp set message in Real Red ink on White CS
(1) Stamp and punch “Joy at Christmas” message in Chocolate Chip on White CS – punch out using 1-1/4” circle, pop with dimensional
5/8” wide 7” long Gold Organdy Ribbon, tie bow, attach with mini glue dot.

12 Projects: December 25th Card

This is the most beautiful Christmas Card: the Champagne Shimmer mist used doesn't even show up on this card at all. This card was CASEd from Jill's Card Creations, her blog: http://www.jill031070.blogspot.com/ - don't you just love it?

Here's the message in the top right corner:

Here is the stamped month: I added the month because my DB (Darling Boyfriend) said 25 what?

To make the card:(no photos of the components)
(1) 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” in Cherry Cobbler, score @4-1/4” along the 8-1/2” side
(1) 5-1/4” x 8-1/4” in Very Vanilla, stamp Christmas Collage stamp set using Soft Suede ink, sponge edges using More Mustard ink. Color leaves, Bells, Berries, Bow, and Poinsettias using markers.

(2) punched Cherry Cobbler Modern Label
(1) Stamped “December” from the Full Calendar stamp set in Soft Suede ink on Very Vanilla, Punch using Modern Label, sponge edges using More Mustard ink. Cut one of the Modern Label punched Cherry Cobbler pieces in half, adhere in back of December.
(1) stamped “wish big” from the Short & Sweet stamp set in Soft Suede ink on Very Vanilla, punch using Word Label punch
Add dimensionals to the back of “wish big” and “December”


Make and use a 2” punched circle template over the "25” to sponge More Mustard ink. Add dimensionals to back of card front, then attach to card.

Sponge the edges and also around the stamped messages:

After all the sponging is completed, spritz (only one pumping) the above with a mister. The economical wat is to get a small sanitizer mister with a min of 2% alcohol from your local drug store, fill with a couple drops of SU Champagne Shimmer ink, shake and spritz..............there you go! And you may even had one of those sanitizers that have such a good subtle scent!!!!

12 Projects: Elf Shoe Card

Another great card inspired by Marie @ www.mariestamps.com posted on 11/18 and also Valita @ www.valitasfreshfolds.blogspot.com . THANK YOU Marie and Valita for your inspiration. There are many versions of this type of card so here's my version today.

Here's a closer view of the shoe:

The message:

To make this card:
(1) 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” in Old Olive, score @4-1/4” along the 8-1/2” side
(1) 5-1/4” x 4” DSP, sponge edge in Old Olive ink
(1) Top Note in Real Red, cut in half horizontally, cut in half vertically. Punch top ¾” circle, then with ornament punch, pop with dimensionals.
(2) “legs/stockings” = (2) 5/8” wide x 2-1/2” Stripe DSP
(2) shoe pom poms = ½” Punched More Mustard, cover with Gold Glitter Glue
(1) ½” x 5-1/2” Very Vanilla CS, Stamp message from Four the Holidays stamp set in Old Olive ink, punch, sponge edge with Old Olive ink, attach to card . Fold back the strip right at the beginning and end of the message about 3/8" and re-fold out, clip ends.

(1) 5-1/4" x 4" Very Vanilla CS for the inside of the Card
Attach Gold bow to shoes with mini glue dot.

Here's the template I made for each attendee to follow to make the shoes:

Sponge the shoes using Chocoalte Chip ink:

Attach stocking, then add dimensionals, attach to card front.

The elf legs were positioned at an angle, some trimming will be needed at the top (see pink arrow):

Here's a Punched Polar Bear card I have wanted to make for YEARS! Yup - you heard it, for years!!! I have seen many versions of this card and finally sat down to do one of my own version.....so THANK YOU ALL for your inspiration.

Large Bear:
Head: (1) Ornament Punch
Snout: (1) Large Oval Punch
Ears: (2) ½” Circle Punch
Body: (1) Wide Oval Punch
Eyes: (2) from 2 Step Owl Punch
Nose: (1) 1/8” Circle Punch
Small Bear:
Head & Body: (2) 1” circle Punch
Snout: (1) Small Oval Punch
Ears: (2) 3/8” Circle Punch
Eyes: (2) from 2 Step Owl Punch
Nose: (1) 1/8” Circle Punch

Card details"
(1) (1) 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” in Brilliant Blue, score @4-1/4” along the 8-1/2” side

(1) 2-1/2” x 5” Whisper White, tear, flip one of the torn pieces to make the snow "curves", adhere to Brocade Blue, apply glitter to torn edge.
(1) 2-1/2” x 5” Whisper White, emboss with any type of snowflake folder

Use sponge daubers with Bashful Blue ink on the punched bear pieces:

Adhere bear pieces using a 2 way glue pen. Use tweezers to pick up the eyes:

Apply dimensionals to the back of the bear heads.

Adhere any type of glitter glue to the bottom half torn pieces.

Position the embossed snowflake section to the card front. Position the bottom half of the curved snow, sliip in the bear bodies under the "snow curves". Adhere the bear heads. Stamp message using Bashful Blue ink.

12 Projects: Gifts from Attendees

I wanted to share with you some of the nice gifts made by some of the attendees at the 2nd session of the stamping event. Isn't this nice?It was a great holiday gesture from all those who came bearing such fabulous gifts........the 1st one: is from Frances: love this gift with a treat box. The paper she used has glitter on it, too. The finished project size is 4" x 4-1/4" x 1-1/4"
