Today I want to show a cute project made from a take out box and the newly released Kokeshi Stamp Set from Dandelion Stamps. Check out the blog for some great ideas and cute projects to make from using the Dandelion stamps! I made a few of these to give out to friends at a special lunch for Chinese New Year.
Left photo is showing the Girl Kokeshi with her fortune cookie. Right photo is a closer view of the fortune cookie with the fortune with a name. The flower in her hair is from the paper and is popped up with foam squares. Paper is from My Little Shoebox Cherry delights - Serenade. Copic colors used are R20, E21........yup, only 2 colors.
The message on the handle is "Year of the Snake 2013", with the edges sponged in brown ink. Right photo is a side view.
It's always more fun for girls: a heart brad used to attach the handle. Inside (right photo) are Pink, Silver, a Pink Hershey candies.
Left Photo shows a Boy Kokeshi. Right photo shows the gold coin slipped in his hands.
The handle is made using a light brown card stock - computer generated message using Chow Fun Font, edges are sponged with brown ink, attached to the sides with a brad to allow it to swivel. Inside contains Blue, Silver and Green Hershey candies.
And, here are some photos of the assembly: Left photo shows how the sleeves were made. Cut 2 rectangles (shorter ones for the Boy), using the SU Word Window punch whit card stock to make the arms, Use Copic E21 to color the hands. Adhere. Right photo shows the take out box with edges sponged and Kokeshi head and arms attached.
Left photo shows the Boy Kokeshi with arms attached. Right photo shows the paper fortune cookies made from a 1" punch, rolled and kept together using a mini glue dot. Also in the photo are the gold coins used for the Boy Kokeshi - it is slipped in through the hands and glued.I like how these turned out.............try other size containers, too.
