Dandelion Sakura Frame

I need to make good use of the calendars I got last year. This simple and quick project worked out great. The Dandelion Designs (her blog) MC-38 Sakura Frame is stamped using Memento Black ink, Copic pen details below. It finished 4-1/4" x 5" so it can be easily placed in an envelope for mailing.  The white background is a 2-1/2" Scallop Circle Marvy Punch. The flourish is a FREE SVG cut file from SVGcuts.com found here. A crystal Jelly roll pen used to "dot" the flourish - unfortunately, it doesn't show up in the photo. The pink organdy ribbon gives a soft finished touch.
And the back:
Copic colors used: E21, R20, G21, G99, RV10, R83, RV04, W3, W5, W7, W8
Paper used: Neenah White, Recollections Pink and Brown, my stash of Sakura Flower Designer Paper exclusively from Scrap-n-Stamp (I believe they no longer have a brick and mortar store).
After assembling the base, the flourish is applied.  Note adhesive is only on the bottom half of the flourish for a more dimensional effect.  The stamped and cut Dandelion image has pop up dimensionals.

Measurements for the Calendar holder (really easy):
  • (1) 3-1/4" x 11" pattern paper
  • score on the 11" side (from left to right) 1/2", 1-1/2", 2-1/2", 6-3/4"
  • apply adhesive on the 1/2" strip.

This is a really quick and simple project that can be used for many other occasions.  Hope you enjoyed it.  Happy crafting!!!!

Dim Sum Birthday Mini Album

This is the 2nd mini album made for Cousin's milestone Birthday. After the dinner party the previous night, the next day was a wonderful Dim Sum lunch at a renown restaurant in San Francisco.  The album is also 10" x 6-1/4" with inside pages being 10" c 6".  The front of the cover was from one of the take out paper bags.  The red sections were cut out, clear tape adhered to the top, cut, then put through a Xyron. Then it was applied to the cover. The front and back mat board cover is covered using a slick heavy weight card stock made by express yourself...Creatively in Shiny White.
Attached on the spine are Cloisonne beads, gold cord, and red satin ribbon:

More photos: there are boarder punches throughout the album.  EK Success Modern Cube and Bricked in Black Recollections card stock used. This is the EK Success Modern Cube punch. See the photos of the Dim Sum?  They were all plucked from the Inter Net, scaled down, printed and cropped throughout the album as the embellishment. All the pages are white card stock except the inside page covers are Recollections Red card stock.
The Asian boarder used here is a SVG cut file using my SCAL computer program. I've used this boarder for many other projects.  The right side photo shows Kanji calligraphy printed  on acetate.  The file can be found in the Silhouette on line store.  A piece of white paper is used to show off this page. Cool, eh?
More photos:
More photos a lots more Dim Sum photos:
"It was Yummy" is cut using SCAL on my computer: the FREE font is called Chow Fun (how appropriate, eh?). I like how this project turned out. Originally it was suppose to be a take out box........but again, too many photos so it became the same size album as the dinner one which is OK.

HELP - SOS - Anyone know anything about Blogger?

OMG - AI YAH - My goodness...................I'm not sure what is going on with my blog site.  I am unable to insert the compress photo files from my computer. I have been trying to figure this out for a while (and, I mean a while).  I've tried another browser (Internet Explorer), shutting and restarting my computer, waiting a day to see if it was just a glitch,  but no help. I went on the trouble shoot Blogger site - no help..............boy, this is when you really need a real live person!!!!

I usually click the "insert image" icon and it brings me to a screen which has a box with "browser" next to it so I can select my photos off my computer..............but now what I see in it's place:

"you can upload JPG, GIF, PNG files" - clicking on this does not do anything

On the left side is
UPLOAD
from this Blog
From Picasa Web Albums
From your Phone
From your Webcam
From a URL

sigh...................none of these locations are where my photos have been stored..................it has been frustrating (to say the least)...............so if anyone has some info on how to "fix" this THAT would so great! Sigh................................otherwise, my postings will be a bit delayed until this gets resolved.

Milestone Birthday Mini Album

There's nothing like a celebration for a milestone birthday. This one is for a family Cousin ..........an album to remember the occasion.  The album finishes 10" x 6-1/4", pages are 10" x 6".  Paper used is from DCVW the Bella Armoire Stack which has the most elegant foil and shimmery Black & White papers.  All I had to do was add the Recollections Cartulina (red)  and Recollections Vanilla card stock to complete the color story.  The front jewel is something from Joanne's fabric Store attached with a glue gun.  Boarder punches used on the red band.  The original concept for the mini was to be a purse but there were too many photos so it was back to the drawing board.  Front & Back covers are covered using mat board.  All the pages are bound using Black 1-1/4" O-Wires and my Bind-it-All. I loved how it turned out...........note the cover is Black color which has a very shiney design (not sure why it is showing up greenish in color).
In any great event, ya gotta keep the invite and other memorabilia to remember the occasion:
It was great to have received photos from other members to completes this album - table photos were key to have.
Random shots of friends are treasures to have:
Boarder punches used as well as grosgrain bows adorn pages:

Papers are cut down from 12"x12" to 6" x 10" so with the 2" strip, that was used for some of the inside page at the edge. Note some of the DCVW pages had corner designs which worked out great.
More boarder punches and grosgrain ribbon:
This special page is for the photographers and more random shots:
Last inside page showing the signing of the guest book and party favors along with photos of a wonderful loving husband!!!
I hope this inspires you to make a quick album to give or keep. Crop photos and mat.  It was simple to do with such great paper to use.  Generally, I do not publish photos of anyone.....so I hope none of these are offensive to anyone.  I also made another album which will be posted soon.

Sending Smiles Sister's Stamp

I love to receive cards that inspire me. This one is from my Friend Gene who was visiting from Las Vegas.  I love her style of cards and am extremly lucky to receive this one from her using the Yoshimi Sister Stamp. Finished card size is 4-1/4" x 4-1/4".  The light green mat has irridescent Sakura flowers  (cool paper).  Yoshimi is colored and popped with foam tape.  Her dress is pieced with Washi paper.  Some copper shimmery gel pen used for the bow in her hair and also on the flowers in the fans.
Here you can see the shiny flowers in the mat:
And the beautifully colored and pieces Yoshimi:
Card inside message on fancy paper:
And, I always love that personal touch of her stamp in the back:
Thank you for stopping by today.....................have a fun crafty day!
