Kimono Marci Trinket Box

Irina (owner and Grand Princess Designer) of La-la Land Crafts hosted a annual 2 day workshop recently in Milpitas.   All dies used for this card can be found here.  All papers used to make this card were supplied and cut at the 2 day workshop.

Project details:
Finished size:  6-1/4" x 6-1/4" x 1-1/2" (excluding wood feet)
Stamp: Kimono Marci (with Accessories)
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug Asian Folder Set
Dies used:  Lantern Border, Build-a frame Fancy Large Die, Build-a Frame Stitched Large Die, Koi Circle Die, Two Leaves Die, Cherry Blossom Branch Die, Filigree Elements Border Set  Die, Stitched Nested Circles, Pierced Scallop Circles.

So here is the project - can you believe this was made entirely from paper card stock? We got a sneak peek of this project and I couldn't wait to tackle making it. I was able to purchase another kit to make a different version - see the bottom of this post.
Front view of the project:
Copics colors:
Hair: W8, W6, W4, W2
Face: E11, E01, E000, E0000, R11, R20, R21
Umbrella, Shoes, and Dress trim: E31, E35, R12, R22, R30
Dress and Hair Bands: Paper pieced using Graphic 45 Bird Song paper.

Paper flowers on each bottom corner  positioned on top of the die cut Cherry Blossom Branch die cut in gold card stock and Two Leaves die cut in a shimmery green card stock.
Lantern Die is using gold card stock, cut in half to be positioned on top right and left side. Here you can see the Cuttlebug embossing folder more clearly.
Front view: Layers of Filigree Ornament are die cut and used to anchor the pull.
Right side view (left side is the same):  again, layers of the Filigree Ornament is embellished here, too.
Back view: see the metal hinges in between the two layers?
Front metal closure: metal pull on top of a metal filigree
Open the project to reveal:
Inside top: triple matted to include the "negative of the Koi Circle die cut from the front top cover. Layer card stock using the Stitched Nested Circles and Pierced Scallop Circles dies. Then add the Koi fish popped with foam squares.
Inside Bottom: Simple triple matted interior
Side inside view to show the hinge top and bottom which is hidden using the Build-a frame Fancy Large Die and Build-a Frame Stitched Large Die
Here's a closer look at the Build-a Frame Stitched Large Die layered on top of the Build-a Frame Fancy Large Die
A closer look at the inside top:
Underside of the project:
Version #2: in my stash, I had this Asian Resin Character (the meaning is Luck") which fit perfectly on top of the center front.
Here's a closer look at the front:
Thank you for stopping by today to visit.......stay tuned for more fun projects from this 2 day workshop.
