Holiday House Ornament

This Holiday House ornament was fun to create. My inspiration came from Denise who sent me a bird house swap. Ohhh....how about a Holiday house! Wah-la! The gingham decorated "window" has a clear transparency film and a photo which can be replaced. The finished size for this is 6-1/2 x 4 and will fit in a legal envelope.

October Fun Swaps

Here's my ghost that came home with me. He used to live in the basket below. He's a candy holder.
These ghosts are the CUTEST!! Maya tucked them into a basket she made, too. Love their google eyes! We all got to take a ghost home with us.
I swapped this tag with the group using the Holiday Collection stamps (Country Living Kit) I just received - I love this kit! The snowflake and "Peace" are using 2 way glue wityh Dazzling Diamonds. The photo doesn't show the Round Tab Punch for the hanger loop. Edges are sponged with white craft ink. More photos later of other tags made.
Mary is so generous! We made this waterfall card with a Xmas theme. Isn't it great?

This Xmas card is from Teri. The fine line of glitter doesn't show up well at all in the photo. It is on top/bottom of the striped designer Paper (Holiday Treasures) and the swirls in the tree (which are on dimensionals) - Love this!
Sharon shared this matchbook style tea bag holder with us. Finsihed size is 2-3/4 x 3-1/4. Perfect size to tuck into a purse.
Sonja shared this glitter techinique (and several others). This one is using Versamark, heat & stick with Chunky Glitter on chipboard. It really looks great! Maybe Sonja will post her other techniques soon on her blog. Stay tuned on her blog - see link: The Art & Craft of Sonja Shin at http://www.creative-sonja.blogspot.com/
This great card was from Maya. It uses the Ski Slope Designer Paper. A great idea shared: attach back of grosgrain ribbon with stickey tape - ta dah: no fraying at thge ends! Brillant! The red glitter was applied with 2 way glue pen - it took 3 passes to get it covered almost 100% .
Mary shared this cute little Thanksgiving surprise made from punches with the group. So Cute! The finished size is 2-1/2 x 2-1/2. She reminded us the instructions are on Stampin Success Oct. Page 9.
Aren't these all great swaps?

Birthday Decorations

This banner was made for a special Grandniece's birthday. Her favorite color is pink! It turned out a bit longer than expected: it is over 7-1/2 feet long. In between the letters and spaces, 1/4" Pink Edge ribbon was tied to secure each section from slipping. It can be used from year to year. More details below.
This photo (sorry it isn't very clear) is showing the banner "ends". The scallop circle is from the Big Shot Pennant. I used a 1-3/8" Circle Punch and 1-1/4" Circle Punch, then attached a punched butterfly. There is a 1/8: wide Pink satin ribbon used. At the end of the ribbon, a iridescent bead was used to "weigh" the banner tip.
This is one of the "spacers" in between Marissa's letters. Note larger silk artificial flower and bling in the center and punched butterfly toward the tip.
This is the 2nd "spacer" in between the letters used for Marissa's letters. This is using the larger artificial silk flower with a bling in the center. The punched butterfly to attached toward the tip.
This is a close-up of the banner showing the scallop circle designer paper used, netting on top of the stamped Pretty in Pink/Pixie Pink banner. The small artificial silk flower was part of the larger daisy which was taken apart. "R" is cut from using the Cricut George cartridge.
Favors for the girls were made covering Baby formula cans (Yippee - we recycled!) Cans for both girls and boys were filled with snacks. After the snacks in the cans are eaten, hopefully they can be recycled again for storage. The girl cans were stamped on Pretty in Pink and then wrapped around the can. Computer generated names backed with Pixie Pink attached. Final touches: Punched Butterfly attached randomly with a glue dot around can and Silk artificial flower with a diamond bling in the center. Where did I get these flowers? Look for 90% off bargains when the season is over. These were Daisy garlands, cut and taken apart, especially for this project. There are plenty left over daisies for more garlands or other projects.

These can favors are for the boys. Newspaper was used to cover the cans. The Bugs were attached using Pop-up Glue Dots. Can you believe I found the bugs at a local Pharmacy. Names were computer printed and edges sponged using Close to Cocoa.
Supplies used:

  • Stamps: Baroque Motifs
  • CS: Pretty in Pink, Pixie Pink, White, Close to Cocoa, Hostess Paper Pack Spr/Sum 2008
  • Ink: Close to Cocoa
  • Accys: Pink Netting fabric, Big Shot Pennant Die, Big Shot Scallop Circle Die, 1/8" satin Ribbon, Cricut George & Basics Shapes, Butterfly EK Success Punch, Artificial Flowers, Bling flower center, Glue dots, 5/8" White+Pink Organdy Ribbon, 1/4" Pink Pico edge satin ribbon, 5/8" Vanilla Pico Edge Satin Ribbon, Pearls by the yard trim, Iridescent Beads, Dimensionals, Newspaper, Plastic Bugs, Pop-up Glue Dots, 1/4" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch.

Whew! I think that's it!

Getting Organized

I participated in Designer Paper weeks ago! Look at the amount of papers I got from submitting 2 sets Designer Paper. I almost have all of them in the actual size and color. These are a great business tool to show both to customers as well as to co-ordinate with stamp sets. I finally found something to showcase them. I found a generic plastic 4x6 photo container which also came with it's own plastic photo case - the best part? $1.50 for both the album and case! They're from a Japanese store called "Daiso" in Daly City, California. Each photo album has 60 pages. A label maker was used to identify each album. I'll change out the designer papers when new ones come out later. I love being organized.

This was for World Card Day (late post): I used the kit to make 3 boxes (mix and match lids) and used SU Note cards (which comes with envelopes). Stamp: Wow Flowers
CS: Flower Power Card Elements kit
Ink: Rose Red, Old Olive
Accys: Note Cards, Dimensionals, all other accys are from Flower Power Card Elements kit

Asian Wedding Favors

I just remembered I had a photo of these wedding favors made for a friend. The wedding was a couple years ago but I thought it would still go great with the invitation posted below. The wedding couple name and date is printed in the back of the box. Yes, we made a couple hundred of these things in a short amount of time! (The finished box size is 2 x 3-1/2 and can be filled with sweets. This box is made by using 1/2 sheet of 8-1/2 x 11 paper. It's called a 2-4-6-8 box. They turned out so great! Again, my favorite color!

Supplies used:
  • Stamp: Double Happiness (Asian Image)
  • Card Stock: SU Real Red
  • Ink: Versamark
  • Accys: Notch Punch, SU Gold Embossing Powder, Gold cord (retired)

Asian Wedding Card

Here is a Asian Wedding card submitted for consideration. Asian word in front on the belly band is " Double Happiness" stamped, and then embossed in Gold. The belly band slips off and reveals invitation inside printed on Card Stock weight Vellum (which is sturdy) and backed with real red card stock. The "love" at the bottom of the vellum is also embossed in Gold. The font used for the invitation is "Chow Fun" (free download from http://www.freefonts.com/). Supplies used:
  • Stamp: Double Happiness (from Asian Image), Love (from Hero Arts)
  • Card Stock: SU Very Vanilla, SU Real Red, SU Vellum
  • Ink: Versamark
  • Accys: SU Gold Embossing Powder, 1/2" Gold Organdy Ribbon, 1/8" punch

This was fun to create since these are my favorite colors! enjoy................
