Cake Week: Princess Castle

This cake is totally inspired by Mary Jo Albright (see her site: www.mjalbright.wordpress.com). Her castle is posted April 1, 2008. A big shout out to her! This is my version. I used a 3/4" Square punch to create the "castle tops" and a 1/4" Square Punch for the Windows. The Word Window Punch was used in the second cake layer. The total height, from the cake base to the top of the Heart pole, is 4-3/4".

Here's the back of the cake: there are windows all the way around.

A close-up of the cake: Greenery all around the base of the cake is made by using the Trio Flower Punch. Iridescent glitter was added to them. The "water" around the base of the cake is cut by using the Circle Scissor Plus - dial the diameter to 3-3/4" and it cuts perfectly to fit the Big Shot Scallop Die.

Supplies:
  • Stamps: none
  • CS: Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette, Close to Cocoa, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Real Red
  • Ink: None
  • Accys: Heart to Heart Punch, Trio Flower Punch, Word Window, 1/4" Square Punch, 3/4" Square Punch (retired), Small Oval Punch, Circle Scissor Plus Cutter, Glass Mat, Big Shot 3-D Pop Up Cake Die, Big Shot Scallop Circle Die, Sticky Tape, Tombow Glue, Iridescent Glitter (non SU), Stampin' Write Chocolate Chip Pen.

So how did you like Cake Week? There are more cakes "in the oven being baked".........stay tuned. Thanks for stopping by today.
