Valentines Day

HAPPY VALENTINES'S DAY
I am alittle under the weather today so this is a late posting
It's not a card - the cookies are real and taste real good, too. These were decorated from a special Valentine Class I participated in with my special friend Lorene. We made these at Kathy's Kreative Cakes at 631 South "B" Street in San Mateo 94401, California (see her web site www.kathyskakes.com)

I also chose to decorate cupcakes with various toppings. Gosh, this was so much fun! This group who attended were friendly - a great way to release some more creativity! This type of event is great for showers, or any type of girl get together. Kathy was the best!

Supplies:
  • all from Kathy's Keative Cakes!
  • creativity: with Kathy's instructions, by me!

Thanks for stopping by on this special day.................big hugs!

Love Definition Card

My absolute favorite color combination. This fun card is focused on the Big Shot (for sure!) I made these for a swap! Whose the lucky person? Can you count how many dies are used? Lots! And they all look great together.

Here's a close-up view of the the card. It has a Very Vanilla CS background. The Black entwined swirls are "romantic" - ??? I'm glad to be able to use the Join in the Cheer die after Christmas. Define Your Life stamp set is becoming very useful, too.

I also decorated the inside of the card. The strip on the edge is Real Red. Then I punched hearts using the Candy Lane Designer paper. The Top Note has dimensionals and the Scallop Envelope needs to be attached using sticky tape.

One stamp image used.........the rest is Big Shot dies!

Supplies:
  • Stamps: Define Your Life
  • CS: Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Real Red, Black, Candy Lane Designer Paper
  • Ink: Black
  • Accys: Heart to Heart Punch, Dimensionals, Sticky Tape, 2 Way Glue Pen, Big Shot dies: Top Note, Scallop Envelope, Swirl Scribbles, Join in the Cheer

Valentine Double Slider

These were made for a shoebox swap. I had made these "oldies" a while back and decide to give them a new "face" using the Valentine Bundle special SU had hosted. This stamp set can still be purchased.

Front instructions
  • Cut 1 CS 5-1/4x9: score on the 9" side @2-1/2, 5-1/2, 8-1/2.
  • Punch as indicated on the photos below. Note: one of the sides of the 1-3/8" square punch should line up with the fold line - do not center punch on the width of this section.
  • This is a good time to stamp your image all over. Craft white ink used on the Baroque Motif Swirl stamp for the outside.
  • Add sticky tape to edge (near fold line) of flap
  • Stamp Love birds, punch out with 1-3/8 circle punch.
  • Adhere to scallop Real Red circle, with dimensional, adhere to front.
  • You're done with the front

  • Cut (2) pieces 2-7/8"x 4" Real Red
  • Cut (2) pieces 2-5/8"x 3-3/4" in Whisper White - stamp Love and Heart image on this size
  • Cut (1) piece clear plastic 1-1/4" wide x 10-1/2" long. Use a clear plastic bag. Avoid having a "seam" on the cut strip.
  • Place clear plastic around the square punch section. Secure with a little snail and then use a little tape to ensure there are no "loose flapping" plastic. This will ensure a smooth slide. Do not make connection too tight or you will have trouble sliding.
  • Position the connection about 1/2" from the top.
  • Now here's the fun part: place the stamped Love image (as shown), line up the bottom of the card. Now move the Love image over to the left, place snail on top of the Plastic strip. Be careful NOT to get any on the card (otherwise, your slider will get stuck!). Carefully place the Love image back on top of the Plastic strip and positioned 1/16" away from the fold line (see above photo).
  • Last part: Turn card over, place the Heart stamped image face down so both stamped images are "backed". Line up Heart image with the top of the card, move it over, add snail to Plastic Strip, move Heart on top of plastic strip and line up with Love card. (hope this makes sense!)
  • TEST: so now is a good time to be sure your cards will slide - test it out by pulling both cards.

  • Time to finish: Last step

    • To close card, remove top of sticky tape, ensure flap is in front of both cards and close.
    • Add ribbon and tie double knot.

    Supplies used:

    • Stamps: Love You Much, Baroque Motifs
    • CS: Pixie Pink, Real Red. Whisper White
    • Ink: Staz On Black, Craft White
    • Accys: 1" Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Square Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, 1/4" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals, Sticky Tape, 1-1/4" wide clear plastic (any bag will do).

    Thanks for stopping by..................
