Dim Sum ThankYou Card

I had an opportunity to use my 2 Scoops Rice stamps set for a recent Dim Sum lunch event.............unfortunately, this stamp company is no longer is business (boo-hoo).  Card base is SU Real Red, Recollections Kraft mat, and Recollections Vanilla. Vanilla background is SU Textured embossing Folder. Floral Washi Tape used for some added color.

Copic markers used for this card: E31, E55, R20, R83, W1, W7, R35:

 SU Small oval punched used for the Dim Sum tag.

Card inside: Stamped message is from Papertrey Ink's stamp set called Thanks All Ways. Soy Sauce images are from Kitty Bee Designs found here.

Sushi Notes

Look what I got just in time! My pre-order from SU arrived today with Circle Circus (new stamp set being offered in the 2009-2010 Catalog). It works perfectly with this Mini Magazine holder project. To me, this stamp set screams make me Asian! Stamp me, Emboss me, Versamark me! So I did. The words "Sushi" is from 2 Scoops Rice Stamp Set which is colored using Old Olive Stampin' Write Pen. The "note" is from Sweet Little Sentiments (retired SU) - a nice combination.

Look! 3x3 Note cards with little Sushi! The envelopes are also stamped (using Old Olive ink) with one of the designs from the new stamp set. The message "a note for you" is from Sweet Little Sentiments (retired SU).

Noodle Bowl Greetings

Stampin-Up will be revealing their new catalogue soon so while I am anxiously awaiting it's arrival (as a Demonstrator, I will get my copy early since I placed a pre-order), I can play with some fun stamps I have:

These are Noodle Bowl Greetings....fun and happy bowls! There are 3 different ones made. Note the Bamboo is part of a Paint Chip from the hardware store cut into 1/4" wide strips. The Octagon shape is cut and embossed (Nestibilities) with pop-ups attached to the scrapbook straw mat paper. Finished card size is standard: 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"

Inside of the card has the straw mat scrapbook paper.

Close up view of the Tempura Noodle Bowl with Sushi:

This noodle bowl Vietnamese and is called "Pho" - Mint leaves are in the bowl for flavoring and Lime juice is also added to the broth.

This bowl is "WonTon" noodles ( dumplings in soup) - yummy!

Asia Week: Dim Sum Basket

This is a favorite project: so CUTE! The finished size for this basket is 2-1/2" diameter. All images are stamped with Staz On Black Ink on Whisper White CS, then using the Stampin-Up Aqua Pen, apply the color to the images. They are cut out and placed on the "doilie" with a dimensional. The Smiley Dim Sum Character is attached to the Wicker Dim Sum Basket with mini glue dots. This wicker basket can be found in any Chinatown kitchen section.

Look what is on the inside. This is the 1st "tray"

The last "tray" is the Chinese Take Out Box with of course, Fortune Cookies and Chop Sticks.

All the doilies used for this project are from the Stampin-Up exclusive Pennant Die. Each dollie (front and back side) is embossed using the Cuttlebug Dot Folder.

Sasha - Kokeshi Doll

Look what I got in the mail! I have been waiting patiently and patience has great rewards! This is "Sasha": she is a Kokeshi Doll and she loves everything fashion and is a girly-girl. The stamp is made by Renae from Two Scoops Rice Designs (http://www.twoscoopsricedesigns.blogspot.com/). Isn't that a great name!!! Love it! They have so many fabulous clear stamp sets: sushi, dim sum, and noodles in a bowl - they are yummy and best of all: good for a diet. Ya gotta check it out! I decided on Red/Black color combination would be perfect for this card. I stamped the Red background with a bamboo stamp. I left the bottom without a sentiment for later (this is a "keeper").

Here's a photo of the nice surprise I got: they are Sushi Magnets - so cute! This is just a small sampling of the clear sushi stamps that are available. So who said stamping doesn't make anyone happy?
