Asian Mother's Day Card

Here's my Mother's day card that made for my Mom and my Mother-in-law. It had to be a special card for two special ladies. A favorite paper used: Crate paper's Pink Plum Collection/Very Berry - love this paper and have been hoarding it for a special occasion. Because I also wanted the cherry blossom to show up, vellum card stock was used and "Mom" adhered on top. They loved it!

Here's a closer view of the front: The Cherry blossoms are dotted with Star Dust Stickles in the centers

See the corners of the Crate Paper Pink Plum: punched using the Martha Stewart Cherry Blossom corner punch:

Wha-la.............open the card to reveal: Lanterns, cherry blossoms, fans, and a Happy Mother's Day banner

Top view:

Here's one of the lanterns attached with a antique brass brad, popped with dimensionals. Using a white gel pen to make the creased fold lines for lanterns.

Back of the card: a special stamp (from Stampmajick: Chinese Sayings)

SU's 2 way Glue Pen was used to adhere the frame and the words. Mom was cut using SCAL (sure cuts a lot) with my Cricut machine. The font style was from my computer library: Brushstrokes.

Here are the Martha Stewart Cherry Blossom punches used:

Hero Arts: Good Fortune Stamp set using the lanterns and fans are stamped and colored using my Copic pens. Banner and sentiment is from Stampmagick (Chinese sayings).

Pop the lanterns, fans, and oval with dimensionals:

Attach oval to the front of the card over the cherry blossom branch. The blossoms are randomly positioned and attached using Tombow glue. Adhere punched cornered front to the Vellum, add dimensionals, then attach to the Chocolate chip card front.

Card inside: before pierce top of lantern for brad

Use a thicker thread or dental floss for the banner. Double stick tape is put down first, then the string, and the other side of the banner. Attach securely with either mini glue dots or tape to the "mountain" section on the underside of the card center.

Apply sticky tape to the inside card as shown (sorry about the photo):

Add Star dust Stickles to the cherry blossom centers:

Yet Another Pop Up Birthday Card

More retired SU DSP to use up - I really have to start using it instead of hoarding DSP......a good goal to have for the rest of the year!!! This DSP is from SU's Sale-a-bration a couple years back: Delicate Dots. Ya got some, too? The small Vellum punched Martha Stewart butterfly and Blossom Trim Punch are the perfect embellishments for this card. The smallest adhesive rhinestones are used for the center of the flowers and along the butterfly body center.

The wings of the butterfly are floating - use a mini glue dot to adhere to card front.

Card inside: additional Vellum punched butterflies amongst the flowers.

A small Vellum punched butterfly on the words......

Cottage Wall Birthday Pop Up Card

This one is the best of the pop-ups (using the SVG.com Premium Pop-Up cut file)! The retired Cottage Wall DSP works really well. The retired 3 flower punch was used for embellishment. Front scroll is newly released Fancy Tags 3 - emboss and cut!!!!!

Here's the Spellbinders Fancy Tags 3 die: Cut in Lovely Lilac, then cut again using the Cottage Wall DSP, and cut again in white. Stamp the image using Old Olive ink. To layer each color: hand cut the Oval section. Adhere all together and pop the tag with dimensionals.

The embellished flower with adhesive flat back pearl center. The leaves are from the Owl Punch:

Card inside: embellished flowers and decorative punched edge.

Card inside top and bottom edge decorative edge. 1/4" strip is used (no 1/4" Old Olive Grosgrain ribbon anywhere to be found in my craft room).

Another Asian B'day Lever Card

I had to make another SCAL Lever style card (from svgcuts.com) in my favorite color: red/black!!! That beautiful paper is Best Creation Inc. It's a double sided paper with one side that has glitter accents. I love the Asian symbols on this 12x12 paper. The embossing folder is a Cuttlebug folder. Photo corners in black.

Here's the center medallion re sized from the original and cut at 2" in Black with a Red 2-1/4" circle background. To adhere that skinny medallion, spray the underside with adhesive (a trick Jan Castle http://www.jancastle.blogspot.com/ shared with me!) The medallion is from http://www.svgcuts.com/ The background circle is easily made using SCAL. Both are popped with dimensionals.

Here's the card completely opened showing all layers................cool, eh? A simple grosgrain ribbon is used to break up some of the lines in this paper with punched photo coiners in red. The inside of this card is kept simpler to showcase the great paper.....................

The happy Birthday pop up was slightly wonky so I added some clear acetate to the back of each word to stabilize it...............it worked out fine

Here's a side view of the card: A separate piece of white was added behind the Happy Birthday words
