Poker Card Thank You

So the 2nd batch of Thank You cards for the poker guy group............this is a pre-designed card from SVGcuts.com. The SVG collection is called The Green Room SVG collection which has a couple other fun card and 3D items. I love the shape of this card and how easily it was to assemble. This card also fits in with the Birthday Party event.  I added the word "thanks" to the card using my font library and SCAL  with my Silhouette cutting machine.  Finished card size is 6-1/2" x 4"...................gads, photo is a bit blurry.......oops! Card stock is pretty basic; Black from Bazill, SU White, Recollections Red, SU Real Red, Recollections Green, SU Tempting Turquoise.

Another Asian Thank You Card

Well, the birthday party may  be over but now the Thank You cards need to go out. Here's the first batch which will go to some of the family members.  Masculine Washi paper is used (no flowers, please) for this card. SU Ballet Blue and SU Night of Navy card stock used for the main card.  Avery adhesive sticker was placed behind the Washi paper so I can cut the 3" circle using my Silhouette. Yup, in order to make this card, the circle had to be in line with the 2-3/4" SU Ballet Blue mat and SU 3" circle in the Night of Navy card.  Not sure if I could have lined it up manually..............it was much easier for me to do on my computer cutting mat and then push a button to cut!!! Yippee for SCAL (Sure Cuts a Lot computer program). Corner punch also used to secure the silver cord around the Washi mat.
Here's a closer look at the Kanji word for Thank You........got the SVG cut file from Under a Cherry Tree (Jin Yong) - it was FREE and I have used it quite a bit.  Since the word is floating in air (it's adhered onto acetate), a background was made using SCAL computer program:
The word "thanks" was using SCAL, too - using the font on my computer as well as making a back mat: perfect!
Open the card, to reveal the inside cover. The back mat does cover up the adhesive:
And the whole inside card. Be sure to use up even small scraps of any Washi paper:
Here's a closer look at the stamped message using the Papertrey Ink's Thanks All Ways stamp set: simple (and that's the way Rick likes it)
Like it?

Panda Wobble Swap

Here's a card received from my friend Jan she knows i will treasure each of her Asian cards she sends to me. This one is really fun. She used one of those wobbles (but this one has a clear base instead of a white one).  In addition the pandas have tiny googlie eyes: CUTE!  Mama Panda is popped with foam tape, too to give her that added dimension, I love the bamboo background and the green glitter mat used.
See the side view:
See the wobble in action?: fun!!!
Thank You, Jan for this great card!!!

Happy Birthday Cascading Card

When I had to come up with a special card for a special friend: I thought about a recent card style: Concertina Fold Card or a Cascading Card recently posted on Splitcoast Stampers here. The original inspiration is from Chris (her blog:CallaLillyStudioBlog.blogspot.com: she calls it her Retail Therapy Birthday - her blog here). Chris has many different variations of this type of card (all so very clever and cute). Here is my version using White card stock as the base. I used the car from SVGcuts.com, their SVG cut file (with a video tutorial) from the Rock & Rollin Collection and Sizzix Clearence Sizzlits dies: Avery in Bikini, Cloe, Cloe w/bags, MacKenzie w.bags. I'm not sure if these Sizzlit dies are still available or not. I've had them for a while and finally got to use them for this project. Finished card size: 4-3/4" x 6-1/4".
A close-up of the "girls" - don't they all look so happy shopping?

Back stamped message is from Papertrey Ink: Big Birthday Wishes stamp set found here:
Car license plate and words on shopping bags are computer generated. A silver pen was used to go around the headlights. Clear acetate used to back the windshield and a 11/4" with 1-3/8" circle punch used for the steering wheel.
Here are photos how I assembled this card:
Use the Big Shot to cut out the "girls" as shown:
Shopping bags are scraps of paper from my stash.  Handles are using SU Small and Large Oval Punches.
For the "girls" in the front seat: add foam tape to act as a "stopper". Add foam tape to the car front as shown:
Make acetate pockets for the back seat girls to slip into.
I loved making this fun card....................thank you for stopping by today!

Jukebox Birthday Banner

At the last minute, I decided to make a birthday banner for the table. It was good to have all the images already sized and on the Silhouette mat to be cut using the SVGcuts.com Rock & Rollin Collection. I really got a lot of use of this collection.  It is well worth the cut file. The banner is a FREE SVG cut file I found from Paper Creativity here. All I had to do was insert a banner triangle using the basic shapes from the SCAL library - easy!!!! Each banner piece measures 8" x 10-1/2". Extra large eyelets hold each banner piece tied with Yellow and Green Organdy Ribbon - not too girly!!!!
The Jukebox for the banner is 3-1/2" x 5". It is replicated from the 3D Jukebox w/tea lights. Even the music list is the same - ya gotta have some really good set of eyes to see the list!!! Some of the images are popped with foam tape.  "happy birthday" is a FREE SVG cut file from SVGcuts.com found here. On the poker chips, the "R" is sized, then cut using SCAL.
The letters used for "RICK" were imported from the SVGcuts.com 3D Letter SVG Collection and then cut using my Silhouette. That was so easy.............all I had to do was re-size it to fit into the banner.
"enjoy the day" was made using SCAL Comic Sans font, cut using my Silhouette. Each letter was arranged, then welding together. Make an offset in Black card stock as the mat. That's it for this birthday bash................I'm done and over it!!!!
