Gingerbread House from Silhouette

Here's a great surprise post!!! My friend got her Silhouette Cameo and we both had to "play". For those who don't know anything about the Silhouette Cameo, allow me to enlighten you! The Cammie (as we affectionately call her) is a sleek cutting machine with Design and cutting capability linked up with your computer. Silhouette has download able cutting files from their library. We downloaded this cute Gingerbread House for the initial project. Yup, all the pieces cut are from the Silhouette store except the gumdrops which are from the SVGcuts.com Warm Gingerbread Cards using my SCAL computer program. All the gumdrops have Stardust stickles on their caps and then popped with dimensionals. The scallop edge of the roof is also outlined using Stardust Stickles. Pop the front door wreath with dimensionals, decorate with red adhesive rhinestones, and then add a twine bow using a mini glue dot. The front door knob is a 1/4" punched circle, popped with a dimensional. Give the Gingebread men some character with a white gel pen. Finished project size: 3-3/4" x 3-3/4" x 5-3/8" (at highest part of the house).

House right side: Before assembling the house, sponge the edges with SU Close to Cocoa ink.

House Back: tree is embossed using the SU Snowburst Embossing folder, red adhesive rhinestones randomly positioned.

House left side:

The roof comes off.

Supplies used:

  • CS: Recollections Kraft, SU White, AC Christmas Pack, Core-dinations Brown, SU Wasabi Green, SU Snowflake Vellum, various "candy" scraps

  • Ink: Close to Cocoa

  • Accys: 2 Way Glue Pen, sticky Tape, White Gel Pen, Dimensionals, Stardust Stickles, Yellow Stickles, Red Adhesive Rhinestones, Red/White Twine, 1/4" Hole Punch, SU Snowburst Embossing Folder, Mini Glue Dot, Ink Essentials Sponge Applicator

Thank you for stopping by and I can't wait to get my own Silhouette Cameo!!!!

Shaped Joy Card

This may be one of my favorite cards from the Merry and Bright Collection from SVGcuts.com. This Joy Card is the ninth and last of the series in this Collection. Finished size is 3-3/4" x 7". I loved all of the cards in this series of nine cards. They were all easy to assemble but sadly, hardly put a dent in my stash of DSP. I love the idea that I can use SCAL (Sure Cuts a Lot program) to cut all the pieces to assemble. SCAL sure made it a breeze - even the score lines are marked, too.

Add Red Stickles on top of the red brad:

Gold Thread strung with Gold Jingle Bells tied as the embellishments! Add a dab of Glossy Accents to secure and lock in the Gold Thread.

Card inside - love that shaped insert!!!

Supplies:

  • CS: Red Paper Company, SU Chocolate Chip, SU Old Olive, Recollections Vanilla, SU DSP (retired)

  • Ink: SU Close to Cocoa

  • Accys: Red Brad, Red Stickles, Dimensionals, Gold Thread, Gold Jingle Bells, Sponge Dauber, Glossy Accents, Piercer

Thank you for stopping by today and hope you all enjoyed this series of nine cards from the Merry and Bright Collection. You can get this collection here. I'll be starting another collection from SVGcuts.com soon so stay tuned.................

Patchwork Poinsettia Card

Does this patchwork quilt card look like it is totally dimensional? The patterned DSP makes it look 3D. This is the eight card (of ninth) from the Merry and Bright Collection from SVGcuts.com This really does use up some small DSP scraps. Finished size is 6" x 6-3/8".......an unusual size but can always be sized down. That's the pure magic with SCAL (Sure Cuts a Lot).........yeah, I know you can also do that with the Cartridges.....but remember, using this cut file does not require any cartridge and is a fraction of the cost of a cartridge and uses up absolutly no space at all. And, don't you just love that?

A fabulous poinsettia............do you agree? LOVE LOVE Love it! It is so gorgeous!!!! Add those Yellow Stickles to the center and it just pops it with some bling! The DSP also add such detail "life" to the sponged leaves. Each layer of the poinsettia is popped with dimensionals.

Card inside: sponge edges with Close to Cocoa ink.........

Supplies:

  • CS: SU Old Olive, SU Chocolate Chip, Recollections Vanilla, SU Riding Hood Red, SU SAB 6x6 Packs (retired), Red Paper Company, Creative Imaginations DSP (Plaid), Cloud 9 Specialty Photo Mats

  • Ink: SU Close to Cocoa

  • Accys: SU Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, Yellow Stickles, Sponge Dauber, Recollections Card and Envelopes.

Tri-Fold Shutter Card

How about making a tri-fold card using SCAL (Sure Cuts a Lot) program? This is the easiest card to make when ya got a machine to make all the cuts and a program to manipulate it! This is the seventh card of the ninth card from Merry and Bright Collection from SVGcuts.com. And, another card with a fabulous Poinsettia SVG cut file. Of course, this card is in my very favorite colors, too. Finished size folded: 4-1/2" x 5, fully extended card measures: 5" x 11".

The poinsettia: need there be a more beautiful poinsettia? The leaves are such detail and are fabulous. Sponge those edges with Close to Cocoa ink and accent with contrast DSP in the similar color and it just looks so great. I love the Yellow Stickles in the center.

The right section is a stocking (popped with dimensionals): SU Square Lattice Embossing folder used for the stocking cap. Tie a Gold Thread bow - secure and lock in using Glossy Accents.

See the Red Stickles used for the berries..............

Here's the tag in the middle section, popped with dimensionals and gold thread "tassels". Secure and lock in the tassel using Glossy Accents. A hand written message here. Middle section top and bottom DSP .........well, those pieces are cut from Recollections Card and Envelope package...........why not, they were a compatible print so I cut them up for this card instead of using "regular' 12x12 DSP.

Overview:

Supplies:

  • CS: Red Paper Company, SU Old Olive, SU Certainly Celery, SU Rising Hood Red, Recollections vanilla, Creative Imaginations DSP, SU SAB 6x6 Pack (retired), Recollections card & Envelopes

  • Ink: Close to Cocoa

  • Accys: Gold Thread, Glossy Accents, Dimensionals, Red and Yellow Stickles, Sponge Dauber, SU Square Lattice Embossing Folder.
