LLC Retreat, Project #17
This was an amazing project designed and taught by Irina of La-la Land Crafts. We were so blessed with this cool project! Isn't it just amazing? The finished album size is 6-1/2" x 6-1/2". Ever wonder how to efficiently use those printed 12x12 sheets of paper with cuts that are 3" x 6" tags? This is the perfect album to make. There are lots of details to making this album. The popped up front cover has a pattern acetate behind the cut scalloped oval (made using the Stitched Elements die), which is dotted using a Gold Viva Pen all around. In the oval is a Christmas Hill Boarder used as a background, too
Here is Drummer Boy Luka popped with foam squares off to the size of the oval opening. Copic colors used were given in the class although I did changed some of the colors to my favorite red and brown shades (along with Luka being brunette).
On the front bottom right corner are the Poinsettias - they are a die which can be found in the La-la Land Crafts on line store here. Each corner in the front uses the Filigree Corner die cut in Burgundy Red card stock.. Use a Gold Viva Pen to dot the centers of the poinsettias and parts of the Filigree Corner makes a nice finishing touch. Here is the "crown jewel": this is a pull out section behind the front cover. It is using the Lattice Doily Boarder Die, cut twice and offset to create this effect. Then adding dots of the Gold Viva Pen at the crosshatches.
Here is the Lattice Boarder die pulled out to show a mat for journaling or a photo:
And, oh yes, there is a decorative tag that pulls out from the side:
The back side of the tag: that oval is the scraps from cutting the front cover oval. The strips of paper are also scraps. The tab is a die cut using the Stitched Elements die.
Time to open this album: flip the front cover up to reveal these pages:
Now flip the page to the left to reveal inside more tag pages:
This concept can be easily adapted to other 12x12 papers that have tags within them. Size adjustment will make this concept work well and be memorable to anyone who receives it. Thank you for stopping by to visit - stay tuned for more projects from the La-la Land Retreat.
Really like the offset lattice look Pattie...wonderful card!
