This is a birthday present to have for always. It was made by my gal pal Gene L. who lives in Las Vegas. She is extremely creative as well as talented. This frame was hand carried back to San Francisco on the plane. The size is 9-1/2" x 9-1/2" x 1-1/2". The background paper is a shimmery gold card stock. The geometric frames are ones I had previously sent to her which she cleverly used by putting two of them together to get the outcome shown below.
The Kimono is hand drawn(? not sure) but it is impressive. There is a piece of acetate with the kimono shape drawn, then layered over the Washi paper. I love how she used foam core to pop up the entire kimono. Cool, eh?
On the corners are these metal fans with hand cut Sakura flowers from the Washi paper. A really nice detail.
Here is the birthday card that came with the frame. Finished size of card is 6" x 5-1/4"
I love the front cover using a combination of two Washi papers and punched Sakura blossoms along with a stamped vellum message. The frame is a Spellbinders die.Opening the card reveals the Karen Burniston's Horizontal A2 w/circle Label 3D Pop Up Die found here which is used as lanterns: Shiny Gold card stock mat is behind the bamboo stamped background. Happy birthday is stamped on each punched Sakura blossom, then strung with a gold cord from one corner to the other.
