Last Projects for Day 2: Trinket Box and Banner

The last projects from Day 2 of the La-la Land Retreat...................can you believe there are one more day of projects?  Let's get right to it. First of the three projects today: Hot Cocoa Marci Trinket Box by Design team Leader Sandie (her blog here). The Trinket Box Kit can be found here. Finished size is 5" x 6-1/2" x 1".  And, of course, I again forgot to stamp the message (dah) so had to do yet another search in my craft room  (urgh) - finally found this message from Papertrey Ink called Warm Happiness Too that fits perfectly on the label. It is stamped using Momento Cocoa ink......how appropriate is that! Dies used for this project are the Book tab and Labels Die and Heart Snowflake Die which can be found here.
Echo Park paper  from my stash called Very Merry Christmas: Music Notes and Holly Berry replaced the original paper for this project. I really wanted a red color theme. I did keep the colors used for Hot Cocoa Marci for this project (although I really wanted to color her dress in reds - too much!)  A Music background stamp from Impression Obsession used for the oval  on the outside and inside - it was stamped using brown ink on Vanilla card stock. Edges are sponged using the Ranger Distress Vintage Photo ink. Lots of adhesive pearls used. The snowflakes have Sakura Crystal gel pen outlined for some additional subtle shine.
Are you noticing the Stickles Stardust along the edge of the Trinket Box?  So subtle and just enough shine. It is also added to the Brackets, too.
Love the Ivory color ribbon: I spritzed it with some water, crumpled it up, and let it dry to get this look.
Trinket Box inside: isn't it just "yummy"?

Thank you Sandie for your inspiration on this project - I LOVE it so much!!!!

Here's another holiday project: Snowflake Garland Marci Banner by Design Team Leader Debbie (her blog here). I was thrilled beyond my shoes when I saw this project.  For this banner, the following dies were used:Scallop Boarder Die, Ornate Snowflakes Die, Rolled Rose Small and Medium Die, Holly Flourish Die, Pretty Poinsettia Die, Heart Fence Die, Christmas Tree die  and can be all found here. Another LOVE LOVE LOVE project!
Banner section is 5" x 6". Letters are embossed. Stardust Stickles is added to the shadow of each letters..........LOVE the sparkle! On top of each section are quill rolled roses on top of the snowflakes.  Red adhesive rhinestones used for the center of the small snowflake.
Viva Gold Pearl pen used for the centers of the poinsettias. White Out/Correction Fluid is added to the edges of the poinsettias.
 Center section:
Snowflake Marci is holding a sting of snowflakes. Photo doesn't show the Sakura Crystal Gel pen used on the snowflake. Adhesive rhinestone added to the center of the snowflake.
Last section features a 3D Christmas tree with red adhesive rhinestones and also White Out/Correction Fluid for the "snowy" effect.  Two Christmas trees were folded in half for this 3D effect. LOVE the fence in the background, too
Here's a better look at the Christmas tree:
The third project today is a journal by Design Team member Sue (her blog here). It is using the Daisy Faerie Marci image. This project is using the Trinket Box Kit omitting the box sections, adding a binder ring on the spine. Clever, eh? Dies used on this project: Heart Doily Boarder Die, Stitched Tabs Die, Pretty Poinsettias Die, Heart Tree Die, Stitched Scallop Boarder Die, Water Lily Die, Decorative Corner Die which all can be found here. I flipped when I saw this great project............great, eh?
Glossy Accents added to the flower headband for some shine.  Stardust Stickles added to the wings....after all Faeries need some glitter on their wings.
A closer look at the flower (Water Lily Die) with the bling-bling center:
Back, spine and front view: I added the decorative corners to the back
Additional pages added to this journal:
 The binder:
Whew..........so this was last of the Day 2 projects......all the projects were over the top...........are you ready for Day 3? Stay tuned..................

  1. How many people attended? Is this a "stay over" type of retreat? Do you bring your own tools? Do you have time to work on personal projects or is it only the projects you're sharing?
    Thanks

  3. For those who are not familiar with La-la land - you can go to the SHOP to read about the retreat. It was a 3 day retreat where YOU would not hv any time for your own projects since there were 24 they created for you to do and it was almost impossible to finish them all on site. We did have a supply lost but they also had a lot of the projects already cut for us, too which was so helpful. The 2014 Retreat will be announced soon for attendence so stay on the look -out for ti and get the e-mail updates from la-la Land.
