Asian Wedding Explosion Box

I haven't made one of these explosion boxes in a while. I was so inspired by the one I received from my friend: Gene L. who made me a extraordinary one for my birthday posted here. I decided it was time to make one of these for a upcoming Wedding celebration. I got the Washi paper used from my favorite source: Hanko Designs.  they have tons of choices and this one was so perfect for the occasion. The gold paper is from Kelly Paper - it is a heavy weight metallic card stock. There are many instructions on how to make this type of box. The Double Happiness Kanji on each side of the box is cut using my SCAL program. The original symbol was a punch, then it was re-sized and positioned on the card stock to cut........cool, eh? I was able to use the same image on the card, too.
Flowers used are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  Cheery Lynn Exotic Butterfly Small die  (1") used on Vellum card stock used sparingly on both the box and card.
Here's a closer look: there are adhesive pearls on the butterfly, too
Card inside: computer printed message using the Lobster 2 font and white metallic paper from Recollections.
Explosion box: side with Double Happiness Kanji words cut using SCAL
Here's the top of the explosion box:  "Congratulations" is gold embossed using stamp SU Well-Scripted on vellum card stock.
Each corner of the box top:
Remove the box lid. See the inside of the box using Sizzix Pop Up Cake die with EK Success scallop punch on the Washi cake edge. Box finished measurement (with lid on) is 4" x 4" x 4-1/2". each section, like the one Gene L. gave me, is stamped with Asian Kanji words on vellum card stock. The stamps are from Hero Arts (produced in 1999!!!!)
Here's a closer look at the cake. There are Cherry blossom flowers on each layer. cake is sitting on a scallop mat cut from Spellbinders - the whole cake is popped with foam squares. Adhesive pearls surround each cake layer.

Thank you Gene, for your inspiration and influence on this project.  The couple will love it!!!
