First Birthday Bitty Book Albums

No - they aren't twin girls. They actually are two adoptive girls from China who just turned one year old. There is a celebration for these two that are close in age. One was born toward the end of the year of the Tiger (2010) and one is born is the year of the Rabbit (2011). The adoptive parents wanted a joint celebration since both these girls came from the same Adoption Home in China. What could be more fun than to receive an album to contain some special photos of turning the blessed age of 1. Even their names are similar. These albums came in the "raw" = they are retired from SU several years ago and I have a stash to make these great gifts for special occasions.......this is a special occasion.

Each album cover is stamped with "My memories" - this stamp was one of those $1 deals found in a bin. Just use a oval punch in two sizes and it works out fine.
The names are cut using Arial font 7/8" high with my SCAL3 computer program cut using my Silhouette Cameo. The candles stamped on the top note are inked with a white gel pen and a Yellow Copic marker. The spinning "1" using 2 real pennies is a fun element for anyone who is turning one year old.

Here is Seona's charms: she was born int he Year of the Tiger - I got this charm years ago and wonder from where? hmmm..........another Asian Character "love" from Oriental Trading and two heart charms from Beverly's Bead area.

Here's Serena's charms which does include a rabbit and the Asian word "Happiness" along with two hearts. I believe the Asian characters can be found from oriental Trading. The rabbit and hearts can be found in my local Beverly's Craft Store in the bead department.

Inside: the pink interior is embossed with Cuttlebug Dot embossing folder, a strip of DSP (same paper used for the album outside, too) along with some punched flower border embellishments found in my "stash of stuff". I ams o happy to be able to incorporate anything from my "stash of stuff"...............we all knwo we have way too much!

I do enjoy making these and am sure there will be more special occasions that come up to share more Bitty Book albums with you. A happy crafting day to you!

  4. Hi
Bitty Books are no longer available from Stampin-Up. They retired this item a couple years ago. I have been hoarding the albums and only use them for special occasions. The closest albums I have been so far is from a company called Maya Road but they do not have a album cover/sleeve. After i exhaust my inventory, I will prob have to switch to Maya Road chipboard albums. They do come in a variety of sizes OR you can use the ones from Zutter called:"cover-alls".
    Hope this info is helpful
