Here's the tin: it is a 5-1/2" x 5" x 1" deep hinged tin I had in my stash of "lots". The Kraft paper used was cut to fit the outside, indie lid, and inside bottom using my SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot) shape program.....wow: this was such a breeze to make. All I had to do was cut it, emboss it, sponged the edges, and adhere!!!! No re-measuring and punching the corners. Cool, eh? The "Sushi to Go" was cut using the Free Chow Fun font - I used the negative portion and backed it with Black CS: both pieces are cut using the SCAL shape program. Then it was tied with SU Linen thread, popped with dimensionals.
Now this closure wasn't really necessary since it is a hinged tin. I thought it would add a nice touch. In order to make the circles sturdy, (4) 5/8" circles were pouched and glued together to make one closure. Two finished loop closures will be needed. Sponge those edges, pierce it - add a black brad - tying a linen thread on one of them. The top brad is put through the Kraft CS so no mini glue dot is needed. The side one is also through the Kraft CS. Use sticky tape to adhere the Kraft after sponging the edges.
Here's the inside cover and inside bottom of the tin. All edges are sponged, too.
No - I didn't give her an empty tin...............here it is with the intended contents:
The inside cover has a Sushi "meal" which is removable to make a card.
The card: See the textured "carrots" and those happy "mushrooms"? The leaf is sponged with SU Old Olive ink. Lots of happy "Sushi" embossed with the Tiny Bubbles Cuttlebug embossing folder. The pink cheeks are punched out using the Big Bite (it was so much easier than trying to cut them using the file). The eyes and mouth are hand drawn: again, much easier than trying to cut such small delicate lines. All food items are popped with dimensionals. The "sliced oranges" have that wood texture, too and were a challenge to cut........urgh......
So the contents are sorted in small plastic bags in the tin. Photos of each further below.
Here are the inside contents spread out. There are 3 of each embellishment (3 is a good number to have);
What are these? Why: they are chopsticks....of course.......ya gotta have them to eat the sushi.
And, ya gotta have some soy, too.happy soy sauce, of course. The eyes and "shiny" tops are using a white gel pen.
And, here is the "Miso Happy" in my favorite red/black colorways:
Another message: "Wok This Way"
So here come the various sushi characters. The cheeks are using the Big Bite and the eyes and mouth are hand drawn. The rice used the Tiny Bubbles embossing folder. The photo doesn't show this but the wood texture plate was used on the "salmon". Sponging the edges always help to give the food items some "life".
This Sushi character may be my favorite: Lt. Green card stock is sponged with Old Olive ink and Tiny bubbles used for the "rice" effect. A Black pen made those eyes.
This Shrimp Sushi was fun: those cheeks are using the Big Bite. Rice, again, Tiny Bubble embossing folder. The eyes and mouth using a black pen and the "scale" is using a Copic #RV34 Dark Pink Marker which matched the SU Rose Red CS. Sponge those parts and the character will be so happy! Note the SU Square Lattice embossing folder was used here.
Are these Fish Egg sushi? I think that's what they are suppose to be so the Tiny Bubble embossing folder was great for this. A white gel pen used for the eyes.
And, these? California Roll characters? Just a mix of color - eyes and mouth using a black pen. Tiny Bubbles rice embossing folder...............
I'm not sure what this character is called: the yellow part is suppose to be egg. The eyes are using a black pen. The rice is Tiny Bubbles embossing folder.
The last sushi character: not sure what it is called but it is cute! The cheeks were cut using the cut file but that was when I learned to move them a little in from the edge, otherwise the Big Bite would have been fine. The eyes and mouth are using a black pen.
