Teacher's Week: Back Pack

We made a backpack at a workshop last week. The one on the left is using SAB paper. The one on the right has been created for Teacher's Week using the same themed colors as the matchbox tower. How to make this project?: see my Tutorial posting on 2/9/09. For other back packs, see 3-D category posting on 2/4 and 2/18.

Here's a close-up of the flap:

Now how did I close the bag without Velcro, magnets or a ribbon tie? Urgh..........I struggled with all 3 options and came up with the following INEXPENSIVE way. It works for this project, haven't tried it on projects yet.
1. Use the Slit Punch at the top opening

2. Punch 1" Circle (pictured in Brilliant Blue below)
3. Slide the 1" circle under the slit.
4. Add sticky tape
5. Remove the sticky tape, allow 1/4" at the flap top, the push down on the flap for accurate positioning. To open back pack, simply pull down on the flap.
Works great............what a sigh of relief!
