Ghost Halloween House

Here's the 3rd Halloween house...............using those retired Halloween stamps works for me!!! So get them out of retirement........this is the time! Cuz it's only once a year! This one is different from the two other Halloween houses previously posted. The photos had to be taken on a black back drop, otherwise the ghosts wouldn't show up at all......

Ghosts flying above the roof. hmmmm....now how did I attach the message? when the chimney is on the other side of the roof? Use a piercer through the roof, bend wire, secure with mini glue dot, then attach roof to lid. "Happy Halloween" message is attached to the wire, another piece of Old Olive conceals the wires.

Roof top front:

Front Bottom:
This time, the door is on the left side of the house and crooked in shape.

Right side:
Use a Stampin' Write Pen to randomly make cracks around the house. Tuck the tombstone and pumpkins behind the "ground".

Back Roof:

Back:

Left side:

With the lid off..............

After embossing the roof pieces, ink the edges using Lovely Lilac (retired) ink. Black was also used on top of the Lovely Lilac. Punch a decorative edge, sponge edges, attach to roof using sticky tape.

Sponge edges on the house using Old olive ink:

To make the "ground" and Window Frames:
The "ground" was made by tearing a strip of Close to Cocoa CS (retired), roughed and sponged

A 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" Close to Cocoa CS is enough for all the windows. Ink the Texturz plate to get the wood look.

The window frames are cut into 3/8" widths and random lengths. Each piece of the window frame is attached using mini glue dots. The Whisper White windows are cut after the frames are arranged. Stamp the web on each window prior to attaching to the frame.

Stamp images and color using Aqua Painters in various colors. Cut out, apply dimensionals, then adhere to house.

Use 22 gauge Black wire, curl around a pencil to create the holders for the ghosts.

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Spooktacular Greetings (retired), Wicked Cool, Spooky-Creepy-Treats (non SU)
  • CS: Lovely Lilac (retired), Old Olive, Close to Cocoa (retired), Whisper White
  • Ink: Close to Cocoa (retired), Lovely Lilac (retired), Black, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Basic Grey

Booglie Halloween House

Today is a less serious Halloween House..........all the fun characters are stamped, painted with aqua painters, popped with dimensionals. Yup....This is a fun treat house.....even the gate is a little different with some grass in front. This one has a black & white striped ribbon - I just had to add it as the final touch to this house.
.
Here's a closer look at the front: the Treater isn't scared of the stamped spiders in the window. The gate also opens, too. The door knob is painted with Gold Smooch.

Above, on the roof is a stamped message, sponged and curved to "wave" in the cold night. It is adhered to the chimney and crease of the roof..............those stamped Halloweeners in the gables are slightly ever so slightly off at an angle.

Here's the left side of the house: the tree is embossed with the wood texturz plate, embossed, and edges are sponged using chocolate chip ink. This emboss/die has the tree, clouds, bat and owl............I had to take it out, dust it off and use it (for goodness sake, use what we have - right?)

back of the house: a flying witch, a crooked chimney, and a crooked peak (with Dracula peeking out), too

And on the house itself: the Mummy and Frankenstein probably want to eat those spiders for dinner! They are both popped with dimensionals.

And, here is a close-up of the Flying Witch.............

The right side of the house: the bats are slightly in a different position: Note: the tree is placed outside the fence and grass and is popped with dimensionals.

Finally, take the lid off, no candy here but you get the picture or put in other objects.........

Here's a little bit of how each part was made:
The fence: punched, sponge with Crumb Cake ink
The grass: punched, sponge with Old Olive ink
Adhere both pieces, set aside

To make the windows:
OK - I cheated, I have a Quickuts window die that was really helpful and the perfect size (and this is the 1st time I had an opportunity to use it - Yay!). Cut the Whisper White CS and stamp the spiders. use a Aqua Pen to color the spiders. The window is also sponged with Craft White ink.

Emboss the roof pieces, sponge with Craft White ink. Sponge all the gables and peak with Black ink. The small stamped images (painted using Aqua painters) fit perfectly in the roof windows. They are popped with dimensionals and have a 1" punched black mat.

The side of the house:
Trees are embossed to have the wood texture and also the outline. Then sponged with Chocolate Chip ink

The owl in the tree is also sponged with Lovely Lilac ink. Those eyes are colored using a white gel pen and the eyes are using a black Stampin wri'te pen. Beak is using Tangerine Tango Stampin Write Pen - pop the owl with a dimensional. Adhere the "clouds" after sponging. Adhere the bats after sponging using Craft White ink. Add googlie eyes using Tombow adhesive.

Close-up of the owl:

I knew I would use this Booglie Eyes stamp set some day - that day is TODAY!! I never mounted it either so it was perfect to mount and use on acrylics. I used Aileen's Tack it to convert these wood stamps to "cling". All images were colored using Aqua Painters, then cut out, popped with dimensionals.

Now the house can be assembled. Assemble the fence "flat" using sticky tape. The rest is simple enough.
Supplies:
  • Stamps: Booglie Eyes (retired), Small Stamped Witch-Dracula-Skull (unknown), Happy Halloween (non SU), Door (PTI)
  • CS: Lovely Lilac (retired), Black, Close to Cocoa (retired), Whisper White, Orchid Opulence (retired), Crumb Cake (Kraft), Old Olive
  • Ink: Craft White, Black, Lovely Lilac
  • Accys: Big Shot Texturz Plate #4, Fence Punch (non SU), Grass Punch (non SU), Window Die (non SU), Gold Smooth (non SU), Tree and Bat die (non SU), Aqua Painters, Dimensionals, Sticky Tape, Striped Ribbon (non SU), Googlie Eyes (non SU), white gel pen, Stampin Write Pens Black, Tangerine Tango.

Thank you so much for stopping by to see what I made today....................maybe another house tom?

My Halloween House

Are you ready for my version of the Halloween house? It took a bit for the construction to be completed but I am pretty happy with it right now. If I could make something pop through the door or one of the windows, I would..........I'll have to give it a bit more thought. I took some of the elements of what the girls made last week to add to my house. I especially love the open gate and the mouse sneaking in through the front. The not so straight gables and peaks also add to the creepiness. The bats coming out of the chimney and the stretchy web stuff all helped to add some fun to this project. This house is a bit "serious". So sit back, grab a cup of relaxing liquid of your choice because there are a bunch of photos today................

Here's the right side view of the house. That skull? It's actually cut out from the retired Ghostly Greetings DSP from 2009 - perfectly popped with a dimensional. The webs are stamped from the 2010 Wicked Cool set. Note the punched rat running across the fence...........yeek!!!! And, they really can do that!!!!

This is the back view of the house. The oh so slightly crooked chimney and peak with rats on the rook, of course.

And, here is the left side view of the house.................another rat running across the fence........yeek!

Here's a closer look at the bats with adhesive red rhinestone eyes coming out of the chimney - and that golden moon!

The front roof with ever so slightly crooked gables - and watch out for those rats................

The front "sign" also has some adhesive orange rhinestones .....it is made using the SU Exclusive Big Shot Matchbox die - (it's one of the labels that comes with the die. Note: the size is slightly smaller than the Holiday Mini decorative punch.).....to make the black mat for the spooky message, follow the same method as posted on 9/14/2010 for the Spooky Peeking Ghost.......then attach to the lid with dimensionals.

Here's a closer view of the front door........there are (3) Golden yellow adhesive rhinestones on each side of the door. Watch out for the rat!

Closer look at "spooky"

This is the back peak................rat coming...............

Back of the house, Rat on his hind feet ....ready to jump

So what's inside this house? Take off the lid and there are treats and toys.......

Look at all these yummies...............

How to make this house? I can show you the pieces but the template is from Papertrey Inc. (I must admit I did have to make some major adjustments to get the most out of my paper from the template). I will not be providing the detail of the pieces. This is not a SU house.........as many of you may be aware, SU's house is slightly different and does not have a bottom (floor/foundation). I love the lid on this house so it can come off to hold many different items of your choice. So here are all the pieces:

Take the roof pieces and put through the Big Shot with any of the embossing plates. I chose the Swirls Embossing Folder. Then use a sponge dauber with White Craft ink on all the black roof pieces. Set aside.

I had assembled my house BEFORE I stamped the door and windows - dah!.............so DON'T do that!!! It's so much harder to stamp when the house is assembled. Here's what should be done: Stamp the windows and door first. Then stamp the web and spiders on the house. Use a sponge dauber with black ink on the fold lines and edges of the house. Now if you do assemble the house first, an option is to stamp the windows and door on a separate CS, cut them out and adhere onto the house. There's always a solution.

Be sure to also stamp the dormers, peak and chimney. I did have to tear my apart to do this part....urgh............

Randomly stamp the bats on the house - (see, I had to stamp the bats with a hard acrylic block behind the CS so I had a hard surface.)

Use any available die to cut the bats. I did not purchase the bat punch since I already had this die (which worked fine). Use a sponge dauber with black ink on the edges, add red adhesive rhinestones for the eyes.

22 gauge black wire curled around a pencil is used to prop the bats up in the chimney. Attach one of the bats to the wire using mini glue dots. Use mini glue dots to attach the wire to the inside of the chimney, too. Punch a 1-1/2" More Mustard circle, sponge with Cajun Craze ink on the edges. Adhere to one of the wires, then attach one of the bats also with a mini glue dot.

Punch a bunch of rats in Black and Sahara Sand CS, sponge them using black ink. Use a fine black pen for their eyes.........hmmm......eyes should have been red color instead of black (oh well). Randomly attach rats to the house and fence. Then your project is complete after stretching some of the web stuff on the roof..............Note: the fence is attached around the house with dimensionals.

Supplies:
  • Stamps: Wicked Cool, Halloween Backgrounds (retired 2004), Window & Doors (non SU)
  • CS: Pumpkin Pie, Black, Whisper White, Basic Grey, Sahara Sand, More Mustard, Ghostly Greetings (retired DSP 2009)
  • Ink: Black, Craft White, Cajun Craze
  • Accys: SU Exclusive Big Shot Matchbox Die, 1-1/2" Circle Punch, Bat die (non SU, White Gel Pen, House Template (non SU), Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, Sticky Tape, Sponge Daubers. Rhinestone adhesives: Orange, Yellow, Red (non SU), Punched Iron Gate (non SU), Black Wire 22 gauge (non SU), Swirl Embossing Folder (non SU)

OK - not fair, I had more time to think about the construction of my house. Thank you for your patience while I finish.............there may be more houses coming soon!
