Open if You Dare

A serious card? This is another easy card to make: the technique? Ink the embossing folder and then put the card stock through to achieve this look. The message has torn edges, sponged with black ink, and then popped with dimensionals. More details below:

Here's the torn edge: both the mat and the cherry cobbler spider impression CS. The Basic Grey mat is sponged with black ink, then adhere the spider impression CS to the Basic Grey mat, randomly TEAR.............rough it up and sponge edges, if needed. The small adhesive red rhinestones used for the spider's eyes are a perfect touch. Pop the spider on a dimensional, too

Open the card to reveal......................scattered springy spiders. The Basic Grey CS mat edge is sponged using black ink. The circle started off at 2-1/2", then simply start cutting the inside to make the "springs". Spiders "anchor" the beginning and end of the "springs".
Side view:

The card inside top and bottom have the same message stamped. The Cherry Cobbler spider anchors (using a mini glue dot) the inside circle

Supplies:
  • Stamps: Open if You Dare (unknown), inside message (non SU)
  • CS: Cherry Cobbler, Black, basic Grey, Whisper White
  • Ink: Black
  • Accys: Spider Impression Folder (non SU), Circle Scissor Plus, Spider Die (non SU), Red Adhesive Rhinestones (non SU), Stamping Daubers, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

Thank you for stopping by today.....................Have a great weekend!!!

  1. I have not tried that technique - as I can't bring myself to ink and have to clean the folder - LOL - I have not made a spiral card is so long - thanks for the reminder. Your card is great!

  3. Perfect card for me to give my "scared of bugs" daugher. It will give her the creeps - and that is what we want for Halloween right?

  8. WooHoo! What a super duper card! Love everything about it...the inked embossed and torn front is so CREEPY...and I love the surprise inside! LOL, I always thought you had to use butterflies or stars to do this kind of star, but I love your take on it! As always, you come up with the BEST creative ideas!
