Asian Flower Framed Card

Here's another quick and easy framed card using the SVG frame created using SCAL (Sure Cuts a Lot).  That great mum-like flower is from the on line Silhouette Store for 99 cents! Such a deal. Using the knife feature in the Silhouette program, I "cut" the leaf and the stem to cut green card stock.  The two tone (dark pink) mat for the flower was made by using the "off-set" feature.  The frame is cut in black and mat is metallic gold, then popped with foam squares.
The middle rectangle is SU Square Lattice Embossing Folder, with edges sponged in brown ink, popped with foam squares.  Paper used is all from Recollections in Pink, Lt. Pink, Metallic Gold, Black, Green, and Vanilla.

Asian Tea Party

What better way to celebrate a friend's birthday who treasures tea like a good wine. I made a Asian tea pot with cup and saucer using the Graphic 45 Bird Song Collection papers which are so gorgeous. The Tea pot along with the cup and saucer (and spoon) are from SVGcuts.com, their  Tea for You and Me SVG CollectionThe Tea pot's lid comes off and inside is a surprise.  Finished tea pot is 8-1/2" x 7" .............. Finished cup size is 5" x 3" x 3-3/4" ........finished saucer is about 6". The spoon is 5-3/4" x 1-3/8".
Here's the cup and saucer with spoon:
 Overhead view of cup inside:
 The teapot:

Lid removed (not filled with treats yet):
 And, of course the card.
In the Vellum envelope is a Shanghai Lady which is part of the Graphic 45 Bird Song Collection.  I chose this Lady because her dress sort of matches the print used. In the top right corner is a metal fan from Hanko. The "Happy Birthday" is from the Silhouette On Line Store. The flowers are from my stash and leaves are a Carl punch.
Card inside: message is a stamp from Hero Arts Thoughtful Messages stamp set.
Now aren't you just loving these projects?  I really liked how they all came out. Happy crafting to you!!!

Asian Faux Floral Washi Card

I always love when I get a card from Jan C. They always have very specific techniques that are unique.  She always includes details on how she created the card which is greatly appreciated.  Her color combinations are very pleasant to the eye.  The corner punch is a "Mounties Parliament Emagination" corner punch  on all 3 layers.  Jan made her own Washi tape. She made it by laying 3 strips of "Post it Super Sticky Label Roll" taped side by side on her craft mat, sponged it with Spun Sugar Distress Ink, stamped a Flowering Branch (#444G by Serendipity Stamps). Ink used is Momento Rich Cocoa ink on the Washi tape.  The flowers are colored using Copics: RV55, Y13, G17 and Yellow Stickles for the flower centers. The chop on the bottom right side is a stamp from Stamp in the Hand (Chop #2) using Momento Rich Cocoa Ink
 See the Stickles sparkle?

Phoenix Card using Local King Rubber Stamps

Love this one using  Local King Rubber Stamp Chinese Legends and 100 Lucks. The SU Pacific Point card stock is the card base, with Recollections Gold Metallics and Ranger White Glossy paper. Really wish their was a matching die (like the Dragon stamp from Local King Rubber Stamps, too). Select colors for the phoenix carefully so the stamped background doesn't show through. This card is very impressive.
Sizzix Architechtural Accents Set used on two corners:  Gold coin attached using mini glue dots.
Marvy Brush Marker colors used: #1 Black, #10 Lt. Blue, #6 Brown, #13 Ochre
Card inside is white with the stamped coin in the same colors as the Phoenix:
A closer look at the coin:

Dragon Card using Local King Rubber Stamps

Here's another Asian card using Local King Rubber Stamp Chinese Legends, 100 Lucks (background), and Dragon Die. I love how this card turned out. It is very impressive looking.  The background and the dragon is stamped on Glossy White card stock. I got mine from Hobby Lobby, made by Ranger. Card base is using SU Cherry Cobbler and Gold mat is from Recollections Metallics.
Here's a closer look at the colors used in the dragon. Marvy Brush Pens: #1 Black, #65 Cherry, #13 Ochre, #91 Tan. Die cut the dragon (use the matching die from Local King Rubber Stamp), then pop with foam squares. The gold coin is adhered with mini glue dots.
The dragon stamp here is also using #1 Black Marvy brush Markers. If you are going to duplicate this card, I suggest to use a stamp positioner to ensure the Dragon wording to be absolutely straight. Mine is off a little........urgh!  The Asian boarder is cut using SCAL computer program and re-sized for this card boarder.

Card inside with white card stock:
Also included in the stamp set is this Asian coin which also has the same colors as the dragon. using Glossy white card stock, the coin is stamped, punched using a 1" punch and a 1/4" square punch to remove the center).
Hope you enjoyed this card. A happy crafting day to you all.............

Local King Rubber Stamp Panda Card

At a recent Scrapbook Expo, Lisa from the Local Rubber Stamp Company showed newly released matching dies for the stamps. I made this Panda card using her stamp set found here. Darice Bamboo Embossing Folder used on the Vanilla background with edges sponged using SU Crumb Cake. Copic pens used for the Panda E50, E30, Marvy Brush Pens #72 Pine Green, #11 Lt Green
The Octagons are popped with foam squares:

The bottom right corner is a "Thanks" cut using SCAL, green card stock:

In the Dog House

How about a Happy Birthday card using the new Dandelion Stamp CL-13 Bear Hugs Set.Originally this stamp is a bear but I did some surgery and made it into a Dog for this card.  All other stamped images are also from Dandelion Designs.  The grass is a Impression Obsession die DIE060-I.  Dog house is a 99cent cut file from the on line Silhouette Store. Ink is applied to the Darice wood grain embossing folder to achieve the look seen in the photo.  Use the Cuttlebug Dot embossing folder for the dog house opening.  Just a 1/4" SU Old Olive grosgrain ribbon and popped punched Fiskars cloud to finish off the front.
Open the card to reveal the simple Pop Up mechanism.
On the outside card, the punched cloud uses the Sakura Crystal Gel pen to give it that sparkle.

The hearts on the dog house are also outlined using the Sakura Crystal Gel pen.
Hand drawn swirls are added to the punched clouds inside the card:
Here is the bear that became a Dog..........wished I would have had a finer tip black pen to make the outline of the belly.............but he did turn out cute. Copic colors used: Black 00, E29, E34, E31, R81.
The pot of flowers: Copic colors used are E31, E34, E27, G21, G07, R29, V05, V15, Y38

Template for the pop up mechanism: Note: card is folded in half.
Hope you liked this card. Have a happy crafty day!

A Classic Car Thank You

I had to make a really quick thank you card so did a search in the Silhouette on line store and found a classic car, created a "offset" and found a "thanks" image to complete the card.  The paper used is from Creative Imaginations Retro Ad with one side being the ads and the other side having those great vintage Ford cards.  I h ad gotten the paper for a previous project and never used it but like the paper so much decided to just keep the one sheet. A really simple card using SU Night of Navy, SU Brilliant Blue, Recollections Yellow. The edges are also sponged using brown ink.
The car is popped using foam squares.  Thanks is adhered using a glue pen.
Card inside: Vanilla Recollections card  tock used with edges sponged.  A 1/2" strip of the car paper is perfect and there still is plenty of room for a hand written message.
Now really, this was quick and simple. I think ti took me longer to hand write the message................xxxooo and a happy crafty day to you!
