3D Sandcastle

This is another projects from SVGcuts.com's Wet & Wild Collection - I really love how this 3D Sandcastle turned out.  Approx finished size is 8" x 8" x 3" and will hold 3 small battery operated tea lights to glow at night through the vellum windows. More banners were easily added to accommodate the recipient's last name.  The wonderful couple's name was also added to the roof banner. A Sakura Black Glaze pen was used to spell out the names.
The base of the castle is made from Recollections Kraft paper, the contrast is Core-dinations Gemstone Opal - love the subtle sheen and texture which married up well with the Kraft. The Paradise sign was made using SVG cut file Tropical Friends from SVG Cuts.com. The banner is hung using some Blue and white twine.
Here is the embellishments in front of the castle (very similar to the ones used for the card posted on August 29). I had some spare coral used for a previous project that was added, too. The randomly positioned adhesive pearls add a nice finishing touch.
Left side of the 3D Sandcastle are waves (a free SVG cut file from SVGcuts.com):

Here's the removable roof of the sandcastle...........more adhesive gems.

OK - at the last minute, I decided this 3D Sandcastle needed to have a cute little mermaid.............so this one was re-sized to fit the castle. The mermaid is also part of the images that can be found in the Tropical Friends SVG Collection. I would position her in the left corner.  I will be sending this little mermaid to my friend in Hawaii. Her eyes were also using the Sakura Black Glaze pen.
This project will be on my list to make one of these for myself some time soon.................have fun crafting today!!!

Wet & Wild Thank You Card

Been really tied up since returning from Hawaii. Trying to post projects that have been made to share with you all.  This card was made using my SCAL computer program and SVG cut file from SVGcuts.com .Their Collection is called Wet & Wild SVG and can be found here. The finished size: 6-3/4" x 6-3/4". I love this collection - it is so fun to make and assembly is so easy!
Overview of the card:
Here's a close up of the clown Fish used from a different SVG cut file from SVGcuts.com. The file is called Tropical Friends and can be found here. The adhesive googlie eye was perfect for the popped up clown fish.

Here's a closer look at the bottom front of the card. My Cuttlebug Multi Dots and BubblesEmbossing Folder was used on the star and shell. Each of the images is popped with dimensionals. I also love the adhesive gems used at the bottom..............hmmm, I could have added some sand, too.............now where did I put it? The "thank You" message was cut using font from my computer and SCAL..........love that!!!!
Here's another view:

Move the "shell flap" to see more of the coral image:

Flip Flop Wheel Card

Here's a Summer card......yikes, Summer is almost over!  This card template is a cut file from the Silhouette on line store. I love the shaped window and how the wheel has little notches on each side of the card to allow it to turn. I was able to tweak the card template to eliminate one of the layers. The Flip Flops are a die from Paper Trey Ink and can be found here.  They are embossed using the SU Square Lattice Embossing Folder. Martha Stewart Beach Shells Edger Punch is used on Recollections Kraft paper. Some light sponging using brown ink is on the flip flops and punched edge. Clear stickers  from my stash used for the message:
Turn the wheel for the next word:
Turn the wheel again:
Last turn of the wheel:
Card inside:
This was a really easy card to cut and assemble.  It took a long time for me to sort through my stash to find the perfect stamp or sticker for the windowed message..............sometimes finishing up the final part of the card takes the longest. this card sat on my desk for days........does this ever happen to you?

Anyways...................have a great crafty day.

Musubi Hidden Waterfall Card

Now here is another fun card. I love cards that have movement. This waterfall card is a little different from the ones made with that strip across the bottom to anchor them.  This is called "Hidden Waterfall" technique. This technique can be seen on UkMaryanne's blog found here. Newly released Dandelion MC-22 Musubi stamps used with Dandelion #2025 Kaki Mochi for the background was perfect for this technique. Dandelion Design stamps can be found here.
Pull the Kaki Mochi tab:
Pull tab again................message revealed. The stamped "happy b-day" is also a Dandelion image.
Card Inside:
Here are some details: Neenah White circle are cut 1-1/2", 2", 2-1/2",3" and Recollections Black circles are cut 1-3/4", 2-1/4", 2-3/4", 3-1/4"
For this project, the strip is cut 1-1/4" x 5-1/2", scored 1/2" three times, then images are attached: smallest circle first:
After all circles are attached, place foam tape on the underside. make sure the strip is free to be pulled.
The underside should look like this:

Saimin Noodle Secret Door Technique

Here's a card I finally got to make. It was a surprise to me how much was involved.  The original card is a "Secret Door" technique shown by Dawn O. (her blog is here)   Her video on how to make this cards is here.  It seems I've made this a "Double Secret Door" since both sides of the card are a surprise with equally split 3 panels instead of the 4 in the original instruction....................here's the card using the Dandelion MC-23 Saimin stamp set recently released. I've also used the Dandelion MC-22 Musubi, Dandelion MC-24 Tea Time as well as Dandelion MC-25 Hi There stamps sets recently released. You can find these stamps here. Check out the Dandelion Blog, too where you can find lots of inspiration. This card is a gate fold but it got so thick, it needed a belly band.
Remove the belly band, open one side:
Open left side shows the immediate stamped message:
Flip the card over:
Now here is the tricky part: Push the fronts together as shown:
Pull open the center to reveal:
See I could have just stopped but I also did the backside of the card. Fold the back side of the card just like the front:
Open the center to reveal:
Each front panel has 6 layers (wow) which is pretty sturdy...........so some tweaking had to be done otherwise the front panels would be 7 layers...............wow! I trimmed the panel down to 1/2" to apply sticky tape on both sides. Like the background?  It's also a Dandelion stamp #2025 Kaki Mochi (found here) stamped all over.
Copic Colors used:
Kaki Mochi: E42, E34
Fan: R85, G24, Y19, E34
Saimin Noodles: Y19, E34, R35, YR04, R85, R43, G24, W1
Musubi: R43, R85, E30, W3, W5, W8, W1
Tea Cup & Kettle: E34, Y19, W-1, Washi paper
Paper used: Neenah White, Recollections Kraft, Recollections Black...........Note: if you are using Copic to color, each image will need to be stamped, cut, then adhered in place since there is bleeding through the paper. I was glad to be done after cutting out 22 images...........urgh!!!

Washi Proverb Hanging Frame

I am so excited to show off this gift I received in the mail from Gene Yes, this is my friend who lives in Las Vegas. I just don't know how she finds the time to make such great projects whens he has a houseful of little ones to manage.  I am the luckiest person in the whole world. Shown here is the fabulous card and also a altered frame using Washi paper showcasing a ancient proverb.
Details on the card: size is 5-1/2" x 5-1/2".  I ti s beautifully matted with Washi paper, then Shimmery Gold paper.  Card base is Black.
Here is a closer look at how the tree limbs are decorated: with brown highlights, then shimmery gel pen on the flowers and in her hair.
Card inside: I love how it is so slightly decorated with some slivers of Washi on each corner:

Here is the frame: total size is 6" x 6"
A look from the sides:
The proverb:
This frame will be hanging in a prize location in my house so I can see it every single day.
THANK YOU ever so much, Gene for your generosity of this gift that will be forever.

Yoshimi Birthday Explosion Box

Wow - what a great surprise in the mail.............OMG - help me off the floor! This surprise came from my blog friend: Gene who lives in Las Vegas.  She is sooooo creative (but she doesn't have a blog.............she's way too busy).  I love this card made using Sister Stamps Yoshimi.  She used beautiful Washi paper in my favorite colors along with some shiny shiny gold paper.  Don't ya just love it and want a closer look?  The box: it's 4" x 4" x 4".
And here is the card:
There is a strip of white Washi underneath the stamped vellum - anchored by tiny flower brads. I see Gene also added some Gold and Silver random dots, too.
Now you can see Yoshimi with her Washi dress and glittered hair bow.  Her fan is also a shiny glittered gold.
Wanna see more? Here's the box top. Gene has the most beautiful handwriting.....she hand scripted the sentiment. I love those flowers and the hand folded Washi Crane sitting on top of the shiny gold mat.
A closer look at that Washi Crane:
Box sides with fabulous Gold/Black mats:
Remove the lid and the sides fall down and you can slightly see the Washi Cake:
Here's a better look at the Washi Cake
Each panel has Washi paper as the mat,  then stamped Asian words on vellum that are embossed in black:
Didn't you just love this? I certainly will treasure this forever!
