Ping Halloween Tote

My First Halloween post for 2011. Last year, I went a little wild with a whole bunch of Halloween postings. I wanted to try to use what I had (to justify those purchases). This year, I was cautious not to make new Halloween buys................grin...............use what I have wisely and creatively.............right? So I took a Sizzix Die I had: Gingerbread House Bag to make this Halloween tote.

The bat with red adhesive rhinestones attached to the swirl.

A better view of the punched spider web handle attached with a black brad.

Another front view: The spider web has a black adhesive rhinestone. "Boo" and Ping with Halloween basket are popped with dimensionals. "Boo" is stamped using Black ink and sponged with Lovely Lilac ink.

A closer view of Ping: he is disguised as Frankin-ping!!!! Copic Pens YG67 and G85 used and a black pen for those cute scars. The pumpkin is made using circle punches and pumpkin face is made using a black marker. Sponge the pumpkin with Black ink works for me............

Here what the back of the tote. You can see the embossed folder "Bricked" and subtle SU "Sanded" Stamp used. Sponge the edges with black ink.

Here's the comparison between what was made last year for Christmas and the change into this year's Halloween..............see the difference.

Sizzix Gingerbread die cut pieces as shown. Note: the handles were not used from the die.

The alteration made after die cutting the Gingerbread House: Cut across the tote back as shown (or you can leave the "roof" as is, too).

Stamp, using Versamark ink, the SU "Sanded" background stamp, then emboss using the Sizzix "Bricked" embossing folder. Use the 2 way glue pen to adhere the outline of the house.

Attach sticky tape:

To make the jack-o-lantern: use a 1/2" punch, then use a 5/8" punch over the 1/2" to make the handle. Punch a 5/8" circle on the paper, position the 5/8" punch over the same circle to create the jack-o-lantern. Adhere the "o" to make the handle. Use a black pen to make the eyes and scary mouth.

Use Grey CS Sizzix Swirls die and Cuttlebug Creepy Sinistre Cut & Emboss folder/die.

Punch strip with EK Success Spider Edger:

Sponge punched handle with Black ink...............attach to box using black brads.

Ping Gift Card Holder

This Friend to Friend Stamp set from Dandelion Designs is featuring Ping.......I love PING!!!! Ping didn't need much coloring at all. Use RV02 to color inside the ears and nose. A dab of the RV02 is good for cheeks, too. The Bamboo leaves are a SCAL (Sure Cuts a Lot Program) cut file (see info below) and are popped up with dimensionals. The Bamboo trunks are "flat". The center Scallop is also popped with dimensionals. After adhering the Washi paper to the Pink CS, pop with dimensionals.

Look at how cute Ping is.....................

Slowly open the card:

to reveal:

Yup, I found the perfect gift card from Panda Express!!!! The colors worked out so great (surprise!).see this side view ......

And instead of discarding the center from the front card "punch out", I used it on the inside to stamp the message (included in the stamp set).

Here's a better view of the gift card in the holder:

So to make this card:

Front:
(1) 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Red CS, score along the 8-1/2" side @4-1/4"

(1) 4" x 5-1/4" Pink CS
(1) 3-3/4" x 5" Washi Paper
(1) 2-3/4" 7 Scallop Circle, cut using SCAL available file in the library
(1) 2-1/2" 7 Scallop Circle, cut using SCAL available file in the library with 3/16" frame
Bamboo SCAL cut file from Scrappedlives.nl for outside and inside
Top Inside Card:
(1) 2-3/4" x 4" Pin CS

(1) 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" Washi Paper
use cut 7 Scallop Circle from front
Bottom Inside Card:

(1) 2-1/2" x 1-1/4" Pink CS
(1) 2-1/4" x 1" Washi Paper
Template for Gift Card Holder (provided by Dandelion when Flower stamp set is purchased)
Washi Paper : use template provided, cut smaller 1/8" all around

On the top inside card: adhere the top cut pieces and position the bamboo pieces along the left edge. After scoring the gift card holder, attach sticky tape to the extension (instructions are included on the template, too). Remove tape, fold over the top of card and the gift card holder can be "popped" up.

Here's the inside bottom view of the gift card holder:

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Dandelion Designs Friend to Friend
