Grammer School Graduation

This is a Graduation card for my Grand Niece who graduated from Grammar School. The card is made in her school colors and the girl even looks like her. The Graduation Girl is a free SVG cut file using SCAL (Sure Cuts a Lot) to cut. It is from SVGcuts.com. Of course, there is a Boy version, too. I love the alphabet embossed background from Cuttlebug's Numbers College embossing folder.

Here's a close-up of her shoes: the heels and diploma are popped with dimensionals.

One change I did make on the SVG cut file was to add a 1-3/4" punched circle for the head and hand draw the eyes and mouth. Use a dauber to create the cheeks. Pop the Graduation hat with a dimensional. Use Gold smooch for the tassel and knob.

Card top view:

On qbeesquest.blogspot.com 5/24/11, I saw the very cool pop-up instruction and adjusted the technique for this card. Open this card to reveal:

The card wide open popping up the Graduation cap. Congrats was cut using my SCAL Arial letters 1/2" high. Class of 2011 is also Ariel cut using my SCAL 1" high. The Stars are punched using the Large and Small SU Star Punch. White CS Background is stamped using SU Celebrate today with SU So Saffron Ink. The Graduation hat is also a free SVG cut file from My Scrap Chick: I used the SCAL (Sure Cuts a Lot) program to cut this file with my Cricut. I love how I can scale up or down this image.

The real mooh-la is slipped into the cut slit:

A Surprise Birthday Potluck.............

No paper project today.well, maybe just a small one: a recipe card. This weekend was a grand potluck B'day for a special friend. I chose this new recipe to try: Veggie Bites served on a red plastic tray. There is a combination of sour cream, ranch mix and mayo on top of the Crescent Roll "base" for the vegetables to sit on. Nothing is more colorful than fresh vegetables............looks pretty, too. A hit at the party!

Along with this dish, a recipe card and small stand was included for the birthday girl. The recipe itself was printed on computer paper, then matted with Really Rust, Summer Sun. The fork and knife are McGill Punches (boy, they are "ancient" but in my stash of miscellaneous punches.......how appropriate is this.............

Here's a close-up of the fun part of the recipe card:

Resources:

  • Stamps: Just Rite Recipe Set (1-3/16)

Baby Bitty Book Album

OK - yet another album...........I seem to be making a whole bunch of these lately and still loving each one of them. This one is actually for Grandmother Gene! I believe she is quite busy and won't have time to be searching through my blog (I hope). I know she will enjoy this gift!

Spine with football beads:

Back album cover:

The front has the most detail: Two mats are popped with dimensionals. The the embossed Bashful Blue Mat is embossed with a Cuttlebug Dot folder, Diamond Dust Stickles applied to the dots, then leftover strips are added before the name (cut with Provotcraft Designer's Calendar Cricut cartridge at 1" high). Adhere the letters with Tombow glue. The lion is cut suing the Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge cut 1-1/4" high in Chocolate Chip and Creamy Caramel paper, then popped with dimensionals. so cute!!!

Take out the album to reveal a book for memories (stamp set is from "The Best Things in Life" by Melanie Muenchinger/Gina K Designs http://www.ginakdesigns.com/):

Bridal Shower Bitty Book

This project was made for a bridal shower but if she wants, it can be used for another event, too. Since I did not know the colors she has chosen for the wedding, this cherry paper from Creative Imaginations seems to be the perfect paper to use for this project. There will be twenty 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" size snapshots that can be inserted inside.

Side Album hanging pearls - simply thread the brown cord (from a local crafts tore: Beverly's) with a pearl or two and knot ends............

Bitty Book Back Cover:

These flowers are positioned on both corners custom made to match the patterned paper. The Groovy Guava flower was made using the 3rd (counting from the center) Spellbinders Lacey Circles die. The Vanilla flowers were made by using the 2nd Spellbinders Lacey Circles die. Position the flowers on the cover, then add the smaller flowers around them - adhere with Tombow glue, finish off with adhesive pearls. I love how they turned out - go to Becca Bits (http://www.amazingpapergrace.com)%20to/ to her video posted on March 11, 2011 to see how easy it is to make them in a variety of sizes. Becca is truly a imaginative creator of everything!

The main focus of the album cover: "2011": cut by using SCAL (Sure Cuts a Lot) and my own Brushstroke Numbers cut @1" in both Groovy Guava and Chocolate Chip. The Spellbinders Lacey Circles is cut in Chocolate Chip and popped up with dimensionals.

The album inside: "Friends" is stamped using Chocolate Chip ink, punched using SU's Large Oval Punch, positioned on to the Spellbinders Fancy Tags die cut in Chocolate Chip. I love Melanie Muencginger's stamp set: "The Best Things in Life" has the single words to customize and create great messages. Purchase her stamp set at Gina K Designs (http://www.ginakdesigns.com/)

Inside covers without the photo inserts:

inside left cover message.............

Completes the sentence in the little album.................

Another Asian Bitty Album Book

I love how this project turned out. Wrapped in a clear plastic goodie bag topped with a tag and organdy bow. The beautiful paper: again from Best Creations really makes this a great gift for someone who is turning yet another milestone birthday. I love to make these little albums as gifts and snatched up a bunch of them when SU was retiring them. This is one of my favorites!

The gift tag: Glitter flowers are adhered to the paper along with blossom embellishments. Leftover paper was used with a white card stock mat. Punch the top corners of the tag with the corner punch. The crop-o-dile was used to punch the hole for the hanging cord. Happy Birthday message is stamped in SU Certainly Celery ink.

Look - see the small little birds on top of the album case? Cute!!!! These birds were originally planned for the front but they just seemed to look better on top with some flowers.

Case front is adorned with punched cherry blossoms, Geisha Shadow embellishment (it's a SVG cut file from Scrappedlives.info). My Cricut was used to cut this file using the SCAL program (Sure Cuts a Lot). By cutting it three times, the Geisha is a thick and sturdy embellishment.

Here's another view of those cute little birds:

The spine is embellished with 1/4" wide Pink Organdy ribbon and silver charms: two hearts, a shoe, a picture frame......note the small frame with "my birthday" printed using my computer.

Case back:

Album cover with Pink 2011 cut from SCAL using the Brushstroke numbers 1" tall

The album pages have 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" White mats. The first page is stamped with a greeting

Inside album cover has SU Pretty in Pink embossed Cherry Blossoms and punched corner swirls in each corner. Leftover pattern paper was used to make the punched corners ..........(so it would match the rest of the album!).

Inside album cover:

To make the cherry blossoms: first punch in white, sponge with daubers

If you have one of these" fancy flower makers", use the largest metal ball to roll the centers on a thick foam mat. Watch the flowers come to life with dimension.

Apply Star Dust Stickles to the flower centers: Randomly apply these flowers to the case.

  • Stamps: SU Warmest Regards, SU Well-Scripted

Asian Bitty B'day Album

May is a busy birthday month. This gift was made for someone who had a milestone birthday - one of those BIG ones! Wrapped in a clear plastic goodie bag and tied with a organdy ribbon ready to give. I love this paper from Best Creations which has the subtle glitter throughout - careful strategic cutting was needed to showcase the pattern. Pictures from the party will fit great inside this gift!

The gift tag: The black swirl is punched and the mat was hand trimmed

Case front with black punched swirls on the corners and red punched swirls to make a square shape. The center word is "shou" which means long life in Chinese.

Case back: each corner with punched black swirls

Brass medallions hung from the spine:

The front medallion is punched in black on top of 3 layers of red card stock.

Album cover simply embellished with numbers cut using SCAL brushstroke numbers about 1" high.

Each of the album pages have been cut 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" with the first page stamped (from Stampmagick Chinese sayings) using black ink.
