An Anya Card

Wow - check this thank you card!!! Made by the famous and talented Frances (who still doesn't have her own blog.........hmmp). So I am the lucky recipient of this fabulous card from her. She is color in using a variety of Copic markers............(shhh......love those!!!). Unfortunately, I will be unable to provide a list since I did not make this card.
Here's a close-up of the lei on her head - some glitter, of course! and popped with dimensionals.

Close-up of the flower - cool! Uses that new itty bitty flower punch and fits perfectly in the clear buttons. The Island Floral Die cuts through that light blue felt.

Punch Swaps

My Red Car

It's always fun to get together with fellow Demonstrators. A quick post today. Over the course of this week, there will be many samples to be shared from this creative crowd. When we do get together we exchange 6" x 6" punch pages. My punch page is a red car. I have been getting some "heat" to buy a new car lately and I have been seriously thinking to do so. Let's see...........color: it must be red (of course)............that's a start. I was inspired to make this card from (?) sorry - if I find the site name, I will update this post later this week

Use a sponge dauber to ink the edges. Pop the front hood (Large Oval Punch) with dinmensionals.

Coaster for 3x3 Notes

Yesterday I posted the Island Oasis Treat Box which held treats inside.....well, I was thinkin: why not increase the size a bit to hold 3" x 3" notes? The adjustment was simple to do and still allowed 1/4" spacing around the inside. I kept the overall outside to be 4" x 4" and the height is now 1".

To make the Box ( Template below):

(1) 5-1/4" x 9-1/2" Solid CS of your choice, score 1" around all edges. On the long side, score 4-1/4, 5-1/4, 8-1/2.......ooops so sorry - just saw I forgot to put the measurement on the vertical side. Note: the inside box size is 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" with 1" as the height to accommodate the note cards.

These are the pieces you should have:
(1) 5-1/4" x 9-1/2" Solid Pretty in Pink CS

(2) Matt or Chipboard

(3) 4" x 4" Chocolate Chip CS

(1) 4" x 4" DSP

(1) 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" Acetate ( not in photo and is optional)

Use Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Pen to color the edges:

Adhere DSP to matt/chip board board, use a "chomper" to round corners....sorry.....a paper corner rounder won't cut it gals! Use Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write pen to touch up punched corners. Put through the Big Shot Mover & Shapers. Lightly mark the heart with a pencil on to the top of the box. Punch Heart out after Stampin' message and flowers from Embrace Life stamp set. Color flowers with Pretty in Pink Stampi'n Write Pen. Adhere heart to lid, erase heart pencil lines.

Adhere sticky tape as shown to assemble box. Finish box in the same manner as posted yesterday June 23.

To make flower embellishments for the front cover:
Punch a bunch of flowers in Pretty in Pink as well as in White. Spray flowers with a mist of water, crumple and allow to dry. Randomly adhere to the cover using Tombow glue. Dot center with Pretty in Pink Stampin' Write Pen.

Island Oasis Treat Box

Yes, I still have some Island Oasis DSP - from the one pack, I am able to make so many projects........maybe I can squeeze more out in the next couple days (maybe even a card...........). This project is made from covered chipboard coasters. Finished project is 4" x 4" x 1/2".

Treats inside:

What you will need to make this project:
(2) Coasters (I got these from a local restaurant and they happen to be 4" x 4")
(4) Island Oasis DSP cut 4" x 4"
(1) Tempting Turquoise/Pumpkin Pie CS cut 4" x 7-1/2" - info below
(1) 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" acetate (not in photo) for the window
(1) stamped and punch message (not in photo).
(1) 10" cut 1/4" grosgrain ribbon

To make the box:
(1) 4" x 7-1/2", Score 1/2" on all sides. Score on the 7-1/2" side @3-1/2", 4". Solid card stock is recommended to be used.

Punch each corner of the Island DSP with a corner punch that would match the coaster - in this case, my retired corner punch was used and no trimming was necessary because it fit perfectly. Note: Sponge edges of coasters, if desired. Adhere Island DSP to coasters. Place the covered coaster face down centered on to the die to cut:

This is what you should get - keep all pieces - do not discard:

For box assembly, add sticky tape as shown:

Place covered coaster on lid, use pencil to lightly outline the curly label opening:

In order to position the curly label punch centered on the lid, you will NEED to fold back the 1/2" part of the box.

Assemble box - using scissors, clip cover at an angle as shown:

Add sticky tape to the box, also adhere the clear acetate window sheet (not in photo) positioned over the curly label opening.

Remove backing of sticky tape for the front, add Grosgrain ribbon (not in photo) adhere. Repeat for the back side. Project is completed after adding treats - I used Skittles.

• CS: Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, Island Oasis DSP
• Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie
• Accys: SU Exclusive Mover & Shapers Big Shot Curly Label Die, Curly Label Punch, Small Oval Punch, 1/4" Old Olive/Orange Grosgrain Ribbon, Corner Punch (retired but worked perfectly), Sticky Tape, Dimensionals, Acetate (Non SU: recycled Packaging)

Xmas in June

Can you believe I worked on Xmas and it's not even July - it's June! Goodness.........well - it's the beginning of the holiday thinking even though it is several months away. I used some Xmas paper from my inventory and some retired SU Stitched Felt Ribbon as a accent. The finished project is with a 6" x 6" chipboard cover. For instructions: refer to my previous blog posting on 6/7/2010 for the Mini Envelope Album. I made 2 versions below.

Gone Fishin Memory Box

Another GREAT project I worked on from Laura at www.followingthepapertrail.blogspot.com . This is my version made for Cousin Larry's birthday........he is well deserving of this gift. For instructions or a kit, please refer to Laura's blog - I love it when someone else already did the instructions and has a video!!!! I was able to use some papers I had been hoarding........that also means I sorted through lots of scrap paper to find the right one to use........frankly, making this really didn't make any dent in my paper inventory at all. I also used some packaging "chipboard" that was pretty "thick:" for this project. But really - using what I had on hand with the instructions I got from Laura made me feel pretty good. Finished project is 10-1/4" x 5-1/2" x 3".

To close this box: an antique eyelet, loop through a ponytail elastic to catch onto a hitch.

All the faux leather contrast pieces have stitching lines made using a Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip Pen. Off to the left of the lid: the curly label (exclusive SU punch) - see next photo............

Surprise: a happy worm friend! He is made by using circle punches.

"Gone Fishin" cut out using the Big Shot SU Billboard alphabet die:

Flap is secured with faux leather tabs. Inside is lined with Creamy Caramel DSP (boo-hoo retiring color)

Back: the 5/8" SU Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon is attached with sticky tape.

Can of worms:

A "Fish Tale" journal. Hemp twine used for the fishing line. A silver metallic pen for the hook. Bubbles made using Crystal Effects. The blue water background is ever so slightly embossed for a little texture. Hemp twine is used to secure the pages in the book.

Inside "Fish Tales" has pages for real tall tales and inside the "worms" can can be a photo:

A variety of Lures with an actual 1-1/4" fishing float as an embellishment along with actual fishing "snap swivels" hooked onto the lures......templates are on Laura's instructions........those acutal fishing embellishments give it that authentic feel.........

Back side of the lures:

The fish have large antique eyelets and are strung on one of those actual fishing "snap swivels", then strung with some hemp twine.

On both sides of the fish body, lift up the pectoral fin and there is room for (2) photos or a combination of journaling and photo. The light part of the fish body is lightly embossed for texture using Bog Shot texture plates (it doesn't show up in the photo).

Most of the supplies used were from my retired SU stash - am glad to have finally put them to good use. Gosh, thsis project came out better than I expected and it was very satisfying to finish it to present to cousin Larry.
